Not sure if anyone is interested in low end slow storage, but I picked up a couple of these Spinpoint F4EG drives to replace my 1TB Hitachi 3-platter drives. I'm pretty impressed with the performance, especially considering the low spindle speed. Extremely quiet too.

No one is going to buy a 2-4TB HD for its speed. It is what it says on the box 2000GBs of space for your ':banana::banana::banana::banana:' collection.;)
Most of these will be used to store HighDef movies at 4-7GB/film and the fastest speed needed is to stream the video to your LCD TV.
At this rate I maybe dusting off the OLD HP 200GB Tape Streamer at the back of my server room at work to take home so I can back up my CD collection of 6TB worth of storage. :shocked:
