Is someone going to make HD68xx & HD69xx fullcover blocks? EK!? :)
Guess the next question is if the current 5800 series blocks are gonna fit the new cards or not????
Not 58xx and 68xx are VERY different. VRMs are in the other end ...
not really sure why you ask, its pretty much a given. I'm sure the usual suspects will have blocks out for the standard layout within a timely manner.
if my eyes don't lie - there is no digital VRM (volteras) and it (VRMs) should be much cooler!!!

Aren't you guys tired of buying full covered blocks? they look cool sure but the only last one generation and that's it, eddy said he was going to make adapters for the VGA supreme, still waiting.
Yes but most video cards can last a year or two so its worth the investment, There's no garrenty that your chip only block will work on new card.
If your upgrading video cards more then once a year you've got money to burn anyway.

+1 guyz.
WCing is ally an hobby for me. Im currently using MCW80 but its mostly cause there is no full cover block for my 2 GTX460s and my MCW30 was a test on the GTS450 that have been proved to work ! !
If my next cards are High end, fullcover its gona be !
Fullcover block price aside, why would anyone want to replace 58XX with 68XX?
If anything, it's a like for like or even a downgrade
It's not like they overclock to 1.5 Ghz
We are already working on a block. It will be compatible to both cards (6870 and 6850). I think it will be ready within the next week.
Shoggy: Compatibility with both cards = very good news. Will block be inner structure wise similar to 480's block? (trying to guesstimate possible performance from 480 block roundup)
Interesting to see how ati's 6990 will turn out. 6850/6870 are just more energy efficient 5850/5870 gpus/gtx460 competitors. Though middle end gpus make up majority of market, it's top gpu-s that make us drool :)
lol you seriously think you cant sell either of those ?
you do realize that most people are not into computer gear at all. They have no idea that a 68xx series just got released and they don't care. Just look at ebay to see how jacked the prices are on old hardware and people still pay it
Good for you then, I can't sell on ebay and my options are more limited ;)
I'm ordering 2 6870's soon and going water on both. Just waiting for a full cover block to come out.
The current offerings are middle range and below a 5870 anyway.
Personally I'm dumping ati.I'm sick of trying to make there features actually work. Just waiting for the 580 :-)

That's funny, because I am just the opposite, I am dunping my GTX470's and going to two HD6870's. They perform better in CF than the HD5970 and is only slightly behind the HD5870. Granted, this is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade, but like you, only for Nvidia, I am tired of stuff like Nvidia Surround not working properly at all or needing some sort of hack to get it to work.
Now, back on topic, I doubt I will do another FC block again. While I like them, I don't keep them long enough to get the value out of them. I think I will stick with my Koolance GPU-220's this round. Plus, it's hard to justify a block that costs almost half of the price of the card itself.
Elpy: nobody suggests you to downgrade from 5870 to 6870, but those cards are nevertheless good choice performancy/price wise for cost aware customers that had something much older/slower and plan to upgrade right now. And they caused big immediate price drop on 460 aswell :). Also almost at same time apeared news about possible gtx512 release. Competition = good. :)
