hey guys,
Just wiring up a ST1500 psu and ...
First of all, i have always plugged my units into surge protection power strips, etc. However, this guide recommends directly hooking it into a wall socket. as a matter of fact they are quite adamant about it. so have i been wrong the whole time? or is it just that the PSU has evolved to where they have some type of internal protection?

Is there a visible breaker on the unit? If not I suggest you still use a good quality surge protector with a good breaker.
The comment about the extension cord seems aimed more at the capability of the cord than the use of surge protection
Maxxed out this will be pulling what? 1830 watts at the wall? so your choice of suppression and its associated cable must be able to exceed this figure
well sorry i think i posed question incorrectly, the guide that comes with the PSU, the manual i guess, says to plug it into the wall. i dint read anything in the johnny guru review about it. i just put that up as a point of reference..
Then I would contact the maker to be sure about this.

UPS will do the same protection or better
