Asus m4a89gtd + Corsair twin3x2048 = no post

Subject combination does not post.
It started out with one stick posting and other not posting at all. With the working stick, I was able to play in bios, boot OS. Seemed to work fine. Then I started getting freezes while in BIOS which slowly progressed into perpetual blinking of the dram_led. It just sits there and blinks.

I've tried bios resets, reseated both ram and cpu. No go, still get the blink.
Is this the memory? Did the processor crap out? What are your guesses?

On a side note, this ram is rated 1.5v, but the manual for the mobo shows the same ram on its compatibility list at 1.7v. Which one should I go with? I did try 1.7, still had no effect.
