Computer wont switch on

Hello everyone,

I have been sleeving my PSU for the past two days and today I finally finished! However, I plugged everything back in and my computer wont turn on.

I thought it was the PSU, but I turned it into a test psu by connecting the green and black cables and I was able to make it run all of my fans via molex.


Any ideas on how I can make this run again? It was running before I cable sleeved it. I have checked all the connections and they are fine.

This is a new Zalman 1000W PSU and has been working ever since I brought it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Try resetting the CMOS on your MB, whatever it is. Oddly enough that's the only part not shown in your sig, and it's one of the most important parts.

if you're using the button on the front of your case....did you connect the 2 pin wire to your mobo ? And have you got the 8pin power connector plugged in?

If the PSU comes on by shorting it...and connecting it to the mobo doesnt turn it on, then its got to be one of the above ?

EDIT...unless it's not been wired back correctly ?

I tried resetting the CMOS, but to no avail.

I connected the 2 pin and that has no effect either! Also the 8 pin is connected.

I'm sure I wired everything correctly, I'll re-check.

Also, the mobo is a ASUS striker 2 formula

Connections for the 20 pin connecter are as follows (imagine the clip facing towards the right)
Yellow Red
Red Red
Green Purple
Black Black
SPACE Black
Black Black
Red Green
Red Black
Orange Blue
Orange Orange

Connections for the 4 pin extension are as follows

red yellow
black orange

any bad connections?

Cabling was wrong!
