Mushkin Enhanced Debate

Good morning everyone.

I've been away from the "scene" for a quite while, so please bear with me.
DDR3, Triple-Channel, 6GB kits, all new in my eyes.
And don't even ask me about ICs.
The last I knew about those was back in the ancient times of TCCD.

But from the little I've gathered, D9, HCF0, and Elpidia are the way to go these days.
With Elpidia having gone menstrual on quite a few people.
Which is what brings me to this post.

I've got about $350 left to spend on a good, 3×2GB DDR3 kit
for an upcoming Asus Rampage II Extreme, i7-930, Venomous X build
with the high hopes of hitting something close to 4GHz.
And I'm debating between these two kits:

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline . 6GB (3×2GB) DDR3-2000 [8-9-8-24@1.65v]

Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 6GB (3×2GB) DDR3-1600 [6-8-6-24@1.65v]

Naturally, I'm inclined towards the Blackline kit.
Though several people have reported that a good CAS6 1600 kit can hit 4GHz just fine.
So I don't think there's an issue there and they're both well within my budget.
What concerns me are the ICs.
This is the best list I could find and neither of these kits are on it.
I've no clue what ICs are on the Ridgeback and I'm guessing the Blackline wears Elpidia's.

To summarize, I have but 2 questions:

1. If the Blackline does in fact have Elpidia chips,
   should I be worried that my next post will be on the Elpidia Graveyard?
   
   
2. If not, which of these 2 kits would be best suited for my setup and intended goal of 4Ghz?

Any advice is welcome and well appreciated.

The blacklines most likely have Elpida IC's, but not the hypers. 99% chance they are gonna have BBSE IC's which are a little more sturdy, but won't hit the tight timings like Hypers. The Ridgebacks are most likely PSC IC's which are in all the over 2000mhz kits these days. Really for your expectations of 4ghz, you can't go wrong with either. Really I don't know which I would get in that case.

So what do you think the odds are that the Ridgebacks will handle 2000MHz@CAS8 with only 1.65v?

And how would something like this compare to the Ridgebacks 1600 CL6?

I know the CAS7 stuff was Elpidia Hyper for sure, not exactly certain on these.

I'm not sure on the IC's of those. Most likely BBSE. The newer hypers I don't think die as bad. The problem is that there are only a handful of kits that have them. Plus those OCZ Blade's are EOL. If those die for whatever reason, OCZ is gonna send you back some junk Micron's and try to call it even.
