Blackberry Bold 9700 "Failed to obtain IP address" issue figured out
Hey guys
I started using Blackberry Bold 9700 for work a few months ago and recently stopped being able to connect to WiFi wireless because the damn phone could not get an IP address from any router.
I was about to send it off back for warranty as I just could not find out how to use WiFi again as i used to be able to when i first got the phone and I finally was able to figure out how to get around the stupid problem
Anyways the symptoms are "Failed to obtain IP address"
- Fix is to go to our Manage Connections icon
- Turn off all connections
- Go to Mobile Network Options and turn on Data Services
- Turn on your Wi-Fi connection ONLY (now it will lock onto a network and get an IP address)
- You can now turn on your Mobile Network
done, fixed, figured out :)
I don't understand why it's so stupid. If you have the mobile network running and turn on Wi-Fi it will fail to obtain IP address ...... beats me :shrug: and their support doesn't know how to fix this
I hope this helps someone as i couldn't find a fix online just a bunch of people with the same issue.
