That link doesn't work for me Mav...
UZ7: Thanks!
seems like they ran the tests with the NB at 2ghz even in their overclocking of the cpu they left it at 2ghz. I really dont understand after the last couple years how reviewers still dont know how to overclock a AMD processor properly? 800mhz -1ghz oc on the NB gives a substantial amount of performance increase they are not including in their tests?.....It's really almost pitiful when you think about it.
I did run up the NB to, but since the ambient temperatures were a bit too high, I preferred to give more preference to CPU then CPU NB....will try and add a screen on that once some new ram comes in. The current set that I have would not clock well.
i mentioned it when enjoy posted about it in news section, but theres definately more htt headroom on the msi, w/ c3 denebs at least.. i had 3d runs w/ 345htt on my 965c3, not sure about thuban for a few more days
This is your review? Know this, I give all the respect and didnt mean to offend. I didnt see it in the results. Is the nb multi locked also?
My comment was more as a broad statement and not aimed toward you even though it was posted here. I will not downplay your effort and hard work......so excellent job:up:
Anyway excellent review and hope to see more in the future:)
Thanks and no offense taken at all...but the main reason to not play with the multi on the NB was more to do with ram not behaving well on this board. I will come back with a ram and NB screenie as soon as possible...my ram got stuck in the UK, so it should arrive sometime now..
How high did you get ram speeds ? having big issues with my Thuban ES sample... can't even reach 1920Mhz :( 965BE is Pi32Mb stable at 1920Mhz
Well this ram actually sucks...it would do 1600 CL7 on the msi but with NB set at stock....same issue on the CHIV. I have tried 3 different CPU's and had the same issue. have ordered a set of 2000 Mhz CL9 sticks from team xtreem. Cant wait for them to get here...
I was all ready to get the corsair kit till i saw the price. Even the worst kits are way overpriced.
nice 335HTT...I think my MA790XT-UD4P hits a wall at 315.
Hmmm, this really makes it harder to upgrade from my GD70. It seem to have better hard drive performance and I prefer the blue colouring, and the CH4 doesn't really bring much to the table yet :(
^ +1
the little performance gain you get is not worth the upgrade cost as of yet so maybe we'll just have to wait and see how it goes with buldozer and am3 socket
according to this review load temp of the 965 is 7C lower on the 890FX:

hmmmm after i read more and more on Crosshair 4
i would be stick with my Crosshair 3
haha
Different BIOSs give different readings, I doubt the difference is much if anything at all.
Load temps remained the same, with 1-2 degree difference, which I would attribute to the way each mobo reads the temps.
heads up guys, new msi bios to disable turbo core is up

nice, its workin for ya? ill be putting 1090t into my msi 790fx soon so im interested to see how they play together
good stuff. MSI is really working on this bios, even if they have some issues they have not been able to solve.
updated my post with the link, download now :)
booted my 1055T with 315 HTT no problem. i will test more and post some results in the oc thread this weekend. so far it's looking good
So it looks like the processor has a great say in the HTT limit as well.
