must resist urge to upgrade until bulldozer ;)

Wow looks like games already adopt 4+ cores :D . Dunno whether I should upgrade or wait for BD... :D

nice, 4.2ghz prime stable from vmodtech

toms only overclocked it for 1 test and to 3.7ghz?

After reading more reviews, I'm very impressed, it outperforms the 860, 920 and 930 in most cases. Intel really needs to drop the i7 870 and 960 prices because its just bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: the 1090T performs close to them for half the price.

I haven't read all the reviews yet, but in the Guru3d review...OMG AWSUM at the temps even @ 4.1ghz.

I think it's pretty clear that the X6 temperature diode isn't reporting the true value.

Considering how old the i9xx series is. It no surprise that AMD has finally caught up.
I don't think this is a case where we should be crapping Intel as much as we should be giving AMD a pat on the back. Compared to the competition prior to the release of this processor, Intel was pricing their products(not including there extreme editions) fairly. If anything, if Intel priced it any lower, AMD would be in much rougher shape than it is now. Remember conroe vs Athlon 64 days.
Intel with its somewhat old stock has finally been beat by AMD. To reiterate, AMD has finally released a processor faster than a core i7 920, which was released in Nov of 08.
It has finally released a product that might force Intel to release a new product for once rather than just do a one shift product price drop on its products. I hope Intel releases the rumored i7 970x soon
I think with this chip, AMD returns to competition. A chip that looks like a flagship rather than a Kia.

Who needs price drop on i7-870? After all it is only ~130MHz faster then i7-860. But on average i7-860/i7-930 are still slightly faster then 1090T while cost about $20-$30 less. Sadly, but I don't expect much price drop from Intel (at least until the next cpu generation).

Congrats AMD! I have experienced this processor first hand and it's wicked fast! This is a sign of good things to come and i'm looking forward to 2011 where we could finally see some 5ghz 8 core madness :D
any download links to new AOD 3.2.1?

Impressive showing on the x6, but if you think the idle temp @ Guru3D really hits 14 deg C then I have a bridge in brooklyn I will sell you cheap. :)

veeeeeeeeeeery nice CPU for rendering/encoding..
but not so good for gaming :(
oh well, that was expected
I'm impressed that it have 2 more cores but overclocks on pair/better than Deneb C3, good work AMD.
now, I want bulldozer :D

I was looking forward to the Anandatech review but I found it somewhat lacking to be honest.

Power Consumption and Temp wise these new chips are amazing. Are the 960T and 940T 6 cores with 2 cores disabled, and if so, will or is AMD making any native 4 core dies, with these new cores?(thinking oc potential here ^^, as it doesnt seem to add much to gaming yet to have 6 cores, but less cache).
IE does a 965 lose to a 960T is my main question ^^
