Hey guys, Im going to be building a new watercooled rig and need advise on which HD5850 to get that can overclock well? I have heard some say MSI cards are the best and ASUS but I am unsure of which one to get?
Budget is less then $330 shipped.
Also, I am looking at cooling it with the EK HD5850 full coverage waterblock

So I want to be sure this block will work with whichever card I get, as Im new to watercooling.

reference cards are hard to come by these days, don't know which brand is good overclocker but they should be close as they all give you the ability to change voltage.Quote:

It seems as though that is one of the cheaper ones but O/Cs well from the reviews I read.
Reference 5850 only have 4phz power set-up 2 6 + 6 pin plugs for the video cards . The Asus video card that i posted in the link is the only 5850 that has 7phz power set-up that why you need a 8 + 6 pin power plugs to power the video cards. A person has already posted a thread in here where he was having over heating trouble with the power area on the reference video card when he was trying to over volt the card something to think about .

yeah that is the 2gb version also the toxic 2gb also has the 8 and 6 pin, thing is those are not reference and don't allow for voltage control.Quote:
