That would take app 37,500 P4-3000's to do.

linpack is basically the pissing contest of the supercomputing world. its just a benchmark. if we all run LinX and add up the results we would get an idea of how we stack up against a real supercomputer.

I am pretty maxxed out as it stands, though I suppose I could fire up my hardmodded E760 with X5680 #2... would need to set up an extra loop for it tho, it'll take a while.

Oh yeah, what info are we going to get back from IBM? # of machines, Tflops total, average Gflops per machine, etc - something like that? Would be interesting :)

I think they will give us whatever info we want..
I also think the more we do the more they will do for us..;)

I have a a P4 and a P3 I can throw online for this :up: awesome idea Dave, now to just uhm "convince" people :D

Edit: AHH I have two dual cores I need to put up also, I completely forgot about them :shocked:

I put the info in my sig :D

And I got a quad, a board, and ram (and other parts) to help somebody get another cruncher going :D

if i get enough money at my birthday (which is april 15th) i could be able not only to get my laptop and my main rig running for that week but maybe also a simple clarckdale cruncher with a cheap card.

Yes, of course, Bex is going to work in the kitchen the whole week. :D

If you get your Athlon duallie up and ruing, you'll get chips. But if you get a Athlon quad up and running then you'll get the Bex-special sammich. ;)
