Oldschool DDR2 - SPI32M @ 670 MHz+

I found myself in a rare mood of hardware nostalgia, so I thought I'd bust out my old DK X48-T2RSB Plus and some Team Group PC6400 C3's.

Here's the results.

Timings: 5-5-5-15 | tRFC 42 | tRRD 3

I wanted to get >680 MHz SPI32M stable since not many people have managed to do so. I was hopeful this kit could do it, and it didn't disappoint. The board did well too. I'm going to stop here, raising the voltage anymore would be reckless and things weren't scaling well anymore so gains would have been minimal.

Thanks, yes it was air cooled with a 1200rpm Scythe S-Flex E.

Were you still using the old reliable DS/DDS/DLL numbers of 1/1/7/7 or 1/2/7/7?

Yes, I was using 1/1/7/7 for this kit.

Can you show an Everest screen at those settings?
Maybe run MaxxMem as well while you're at it?

I may have an everest screen of 680 MHz, don't think I ran it at 683 MHz. Bandwidth/latency isn't really special though at such low FSB. I've pulled the DDR2 rig apart now, wasn't planning to do the DDR2 thing again, but as it turns out someone is sending me a nice kit, so I'll have to test them when they arrive. When I do I'll try and remember to DL maxxmem and run it (I've never used that before).

I don't know how you do it Cryptik. I've thrown just about every kit I have at my DK X48 and I can't do 32M stability with VDIMM anywhere near as low as you used.

Maybe just a lucky combo of board and ram on my behalf? All my kits do decently though, so I can't really explain it.
