Mushkin is still there! 3x2 GB XP3-15000 Redline & OC @2222+ 32m 8-8-8-24-72-1T

Hi,

still thinking of saaya visiting me some days ago and so it comes I am sitting here and testing some RAM. We were talking about it and he sounded quite surprised I am having that nice Mushkin RAM here. He said here in this section Mushkin didn't appear that often lately so I wanted to bring some results of their RAMs here. Not much talking as I am not that RAM guy. Also I have no clue how good it is, I give not that much voltage on my Hyper - best runs with ~1.69-1.7V real, it seems to be just voltage limited. For my extrem OC purposes this is what I need on Gulftown so I won't push voltage any higher ;) Red Kit needs 0.02 - 0.03 less I have the feeling, apart from that they are very equal.

CPU: i7-980X ES Q3QP on air (Grand Karma Cross)
Motherboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme (QPI voltage below 1.35 real)
HDD: Mushkin iO Series 64 GB

very nice IMC on that gulftown, was waiting for the opposite - low freq, low latencies ... what can they do?

Why you would wait for the opposite? I never tested it to be honest. I do not expect any gains from running low mem with low latencies - should I?
I want to add that Gulftown does not like CL7 according to my and @rnes tests - Q3QP and Q4EG will not do around 2000 CL7 without 1.55+ vtt and it is simply not worth it. CL8 seems to be the sweet spot if you ask me.

Ouch that sounds like a bad one - mine won't like CL7 but flies with CL8. Another review ES (Q4EG) also hit 2200+ on air easy with some XP3-15000 Redlines (on UD4P) :) So it is not only early ES that can do that. What kinda gulfi is your one?

ahhh you know marc... he doesnt care for cas8, having to run cas7 to get that far probably already made him curse the board and cpu :D

The only one of us having 7 running was stummerwinter on his RIIIE with a bit over 1020 MHZ cas7 pifast with Q3FE he tested lately...had a terrible cbb (-80°C iirc) so didn't clock well :(

Recieved my RIIIE some days ago and FINALLY CL7 2000+ is piece of cake :p
What seemed to work good on the board when going for higher Vdimm:
RAM voltage = QPI + 0.3V set in RoG tool or bios which resulted in RAM voltage = QPI + 0.35V measured on the board and shown by RoG connect (those values match perfectly!)

Some tests on 1156 for ASUS competition showed that there is some more in these stixx :D

What ICs are in those Redlines OP? It doesn't look like the PSC in the rest of Mushkin's RAM, BBSE maybe?

Elpida Hyper, but good luck finding any. They're discontinued.
