Intel multiplier issue
Hi!
Today I bought the "new" 45nm E6500 with 2x2.9Ghz TDP of 65W, and life is good, but now I realized that my motherboard , Intel DQ965GF isnt probably supporting the new CPU. My goal was to have a server, so I installed Windows server 2008, and I have noticed, that everything is working as it should, but I was mistaken, the core ratio wont move from 6x(even with prime95 ON), that is 1600MHz instead of the 2900MHz, I tryed flashing the newest BIOS drivers (a year old), and it seems, that this hasnt solved the problem, so do you guys know any solution to this, or do I have to buy a motherboard that will support 45nm chips?
Any reply are greatly apreciated, and I am thanking you guys in advanced!
Regards, Radko

Can you disable speedstep, eist, and other CPU throttling functions in the bios? Also make sure the multiplier hasnt been manually set in the bios.

I went here to see if the processor is supported: http://processormatch.intel.com/COMP...rdname=dq965gf
As far as I can tell the processor does not show that it is supported.
