Ok I am trying to slowly clean my case up on the inside.
I have an ATCS 840 so I have the two larger fans up top. I am wondering is it ok to splice those two fans together so I can hook them into on fan header instead of two?
Right now they are plugged to my motherboard, but after I get my taxes back I may invest in a fan controller.
So any advice???

Which fans? The only problem you could face is if both together takes to much energy from the fan header, but with the vast majority of fans there is no problem, I've done that several times.
They are the two top 220s. I just want to splice them since they are right next to each other and instead of having all that wiring just have one going to a single header.Quote:

Well I am having trouble finding specs on the two top fans. Coolermaster doesnt even sell them individually so I am looking for specs on them
They are 230mm also.
Ok well I found a little info.
Top: 230 x 30mm standard fan x 2, 700 RPM, 19dBA (included)
Since they are so low RPM I wouldnt imagine them drawing much power. What do you guys think?

W/o researching my first thought is that the 230mm fans have more mass and will require more amps at startup. I would not connect these together on the mobo w/o more info.
For just being top exhaust fans they seem to do a pretty good job at moving enough air.
So if I would buy a good fan controller would I be better off?
some motherboard headers have 30w capabilites like ones from asus...
those big low speed fans are around (guessing 3-5w)
You could output them to a molex connector and that would work fine.. if you want to be safe.

I am runnig right now on a evga 680i but i am waiting for my tax money to come and i may invest into p5 or x58
Either way though i want to splice these fans together or somethign to make it look nicer and have less wiring. I have been looking at fan controllers but there are so many.
Any suggestions?
Easiest thing to do is either splice them together to a 3 pin or splice them to a molex.. thats all there is to it.. the molex will be safer is you're worried about voltages.
From what I've heard the eVGA support is pretty good, just go to their website and ask for this info, they will tell you the max amperage that a fan header can give out.Quote:
