I'm working on a new build for Q1 2010. Trying to figure out which memory would go best with this system.

Presumably I could just buy two of the 6GB kits to make a 12GB setup, but I've also heard that it's easier to achieve higher clocks with less memory, so I'm a bit leery.

i agree with zalbard, go for g.skill trident ( the 2000+ mhz one ) or pi series. they are very good overclocking memory and dont cost as much as the corsair or the kingston

I've decided on a black and blue theme build and that I really like the blue heat sinks of the Corsair Dominator. I also decided that I want a lot of memory but I don't think 24GB will fit nicely into my budget, so I'm going to go with the 12 GB 1600 MHz Corsair Dominator at 8-8-8-24 for $410. I could have saved about $80 with the G. Skill kit at 7-8-7-24 and I hadn't really considered that before, so I appreciate the advice. The Pi series has a nice 12 GB set of matched memory modules and a good look, but I am going to go for the memory kit with the blue heat sinks and included fan.
