i3 initial results.....got bclk?

Spent some time tonight playing around with a i3 Clarkdale and was mostly interested in what kind of bclk I could attain with it......

i3 CB @ -160 (runs done at -130~-133)VTT@1.56v

Don't laugh at the memory as it was all it would run or scores but I was pretty impressed by the blck it was running at. Yeah three cards were overkill for the setup but ask me if I care:D

Need a higher multiplier :) Looking good though on that bclk, now just wait for the 25x multiplier and you are kicking at 6GHz+.

Did you run some PI too?

Be careful with the Vcore though, I know a guy who killed his Clarkdale at 2V.

I have one but no mobo to run it on :( searching for a H55/57 "wannna test the gma also"...

The tests look great but not as good as i had hoped for but with time i am sure 6+ OCs will be done soon.

Yep, multi is a problem on these for xtreme benching.

I have plenty of BLKDH55TC available for around 90 euro :) But not i3 :D

That's quite a lot of vcore for that clock frequency. I suppose you needed to increase the vcore for higher BCLK results? Any thoughts on the scaling of bclk with added vcore?

My i5 661 seemed to be wall around 210 BCLK, no matter the temperature/volts/mainboard or anything. Moreover, the behaviour was like a Lynnfield, which means -90/-100 CB and 1.55-1.6v, more was not good...

7xx(MHz) ram?

why not 11xx(Mhz)?

after seeing that the BIOS would not allow any CAS changes(you could set it but it would not take)I figured that it would honestly be a waste of time atm but will probably give it a shot as there are a couple more variables that I did not get to test during the sessions and a couple more things I noticed that i need to try again to verify that it was indeed what was behind some of the success that I had with the scaling of this CPU.

Been using an Otti pot for quite awhile, it is one godly pot:bows:

already been done as I have been told by a friend. 6.7GHz 1M is at 6.5xx seconds. PP is atrocious due to memory limitations.(No, I have not seen screenshots but he is a little more than reliable;) )

vcore scaling was not of importance in regards to bclk scaling as I could max out on the highest multi at the same bclk at 1.56v. The higher vcore was just to stabilize the CPU. The 1.8v was needed to pass Vantage and I just kept it there for the rest of tests.

A combination of VTT and a certain something else was what I found to help scaling more than anything else....I need more proof before I say what it is to make sure it was not a fluke, not trying to hide anything:)

I can honestly say that this CPU was nothing like what I had previously encountered with Lynnfield although all my Lynnfield CPU's were duds:down:

Always appears hard to come across CPU's that have the best of both worlds:yepp:

nope. From what I have seen so far they are locked in regards to memory....hopefully this is just an ES deal.:shrug:

Not too shabby, also the RAM is locked BTW so cant OC it.... the HT is turned off because it was not very stable with it on it may have needed more Vcore but i did not have the balls to raise it over 1.5v :(

The good:

Its a good chip i mean it will sell no doubt about it its like a half i7.
Performance is good but does not fell as smooth as the i7 9xx.

The bad:

Needs vcore i am surprised how much vcore this eats, it eats even more vcore than the i5 750 i had "Which also ate a lot" but this is a 32nm chip dam :(
After 1.5v you better have some gooood cooling, i mean good.

The ugly:

I want the H55/57 cant test the dam GMA without it.
P55 had initial problems could not even boot with the thing in had to use a i5 750 to boot and then flash the mobo.

Nice overclock keep the updates coming in.

I wonder what these chips can do 24/7 on air....
Is this a recommendable upgade to anyone running a E8XXX above 4 Gigs?
Somehow I have my doubts....

Mine i5 661 do 4500MHz on somwhere between 1,4-1,45v

It depends on price range. Nevertheless 170$ is a bit too much for this chip.

I think lower memory divider will be typical for all Clarkdale chips. It's Intel's strategy to differ performance drop of dual core's with HT to real quad core i5 750.
