Back to have another go at it

Hello gurus or the liquid cooling. I am but an oh so humble novice trying hard here so any input suggestions or help that can be offered will surely be appreciated. Hope you enjoy it.

Well folks here we are again. Time for me to redo my rig. I'm going to get a dual water loop going this time. Here are the parts I have so far.

Corsair Obsidian 800D :)
2 x Swiftech MCP350 pumps
1 x Black Ice Pro 120mm Radiator
1 X Black Ice GT Stealth 360 Radiator
1 x XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Res

Swiftech MCW60 GPU block

PrimoFlex Pro Tubing
I'm going with a white black thing. One loop will be white and the other black. I don't think I'll be using any UV lights this time, maybe just a few plain white lights to accent the inside of the case if any at all.

I'm still using my Q9550 chip, Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R, Corsair 620HX, and EVGA GTX 260 card, a little older but it works awesomely.

Now I didn't have the guts to sleeve my entire PUS so I have a 24 pin ATX extension cable I sleeved instead. I have to mention that you cannot see through the sleeving in real life only with the flash of the camera. I even bought some of that fancy MurderMod sleeving and it is GREAT stuff ;)

Something else I've been doing is spray painting stuff. I am going with a White/Black theme so I decided to take apart some of the fans and spray the blades white.

I also painted the DVD drives black on the parts that will be seen. You will notice I went with IDE drives so I would have more SATA headers available. AFAIK the interface won't affect the performance of a DVD drive.

Now I want to attempt to cut the original heatsink for my EVGA GTX 260 so it can work with the swiftech block. I think it'll work :) I don't know if anyone has tries this before

I went with the obvious top mount placement for the 3.120 RAD with the 3 fans pulling air into the case, more on that later.

Also that fan is pulling air in. The rear 140mm fan will be the only exhaust fan there to create positive air pressure inside the case.

OK so what I'm not sure of it the White/Black tubing. Do you guys think I should go with one loop white and the other one black OR have black as the inlet tubes and white as the outlet tubes?

Here is my idea for the airflow inside the case. i think the idea is sound what do you guys think?

I have a 24" monitor, but I just uploaded the pics from my camera. It's like 8Mp or something. I guess they come out like 3000x5000 or something. Sorry

I guess 1024x768 is fine for the pics, not too big not too small. It looks good even on 14" laptop ;)

Replace it and the drive with SATA drives ;)

OK so I've been busy but I managed to get going on the Idea I had for using the stock cooler for my GTX 260 along with the Swiftech MCW60 GPU block. I had some doubts at first but now I'm glad I tried :)

First I removed the Enzotech copper heatsinks I had installed previously. May they rest in peace

I had to remove the newly cut fins one at a time as not to ben the rest of them. Needless to say it was tedious as hell.

I also had to cut two holes for the tubing to pass through.

Not my best work. I should have used a sanding bit. Not too shabby I don't think but I know I could have done better.

I did even them out a bit but my camera battery died so i have no final product pics yet, sorry.

Another mistake I made was cutting the last heatpipe thinking I was going to remove it as well.

I am going to try and solder a new piece of copper tubing there and patch it as I think it will help a little bit in the long run.

I have since cleaned up the cuts there and on the side of the fins using a dremmel cutting wheel and "shaving" each fin on both sides to get it to look original.

Well I got all ready to fill up my system and about 3 oz into it the XSPC Dual Bay Res, I have (brand new mind you) has a leak in it. It started dripping from in between the front and side panel almost immediately. Needless to say i was upset. I contacted PPCs for a RMA and they contacted a rep from XSPC and he is going to send new one out to me after he asked for a pic of the leak. Here is what I showed em

OK so I've been able to put some more time in with the rig. Here is the final setup/routing, and I use the word Final very loosely as Xmas is upon us and I'm going to get some new SSD's Shirley along with another side project maybe. but thats in the works :eyebrows:

detale,very nice look,try to put away old ide dvdrw or cdrw,and buy another with sata,the vga waranty,bye-bye with this modd,but its very nice and efficient.
