Damn those fans are ugly. I wonder how it will perform though.
saw this in the water cooling section i think
its nice they offer compatibility, but they would really need to provide shrouds that prevent extra airflow from escaping (outside the fins on 120mm, within the fins on 140mm)
Looks like IFX-14 ver.2, bound to fail IMO. But we will see.
Has 2 more heatpipes, though.
Also it will have just as retarded motherboard compatibility due to this huge ass heatsink.
Dont see the point in using that 140mm. A 120mm will fit better and look nicer.
hope the 120 and the 140 have the same airflow otherwise its a big fail
Should have made the center fan black to reduce the fugly factor...
Hard to say for sure, but looks like a pretty wide fin spacing - the restriction might not be too bad, especially with two fans at work. I like those silicone blocks that the 120mm fan is resting against. Better than skinny little strips a la TRUE, or the pins like the Vendetta 2.
Be interesting to see how two 120s and two 140s compare to the 120 and 140 combo...Quote:

Those 6 heat pipes in that configuration looks very promising. It's interesting to see if this can raise the air-bar with a few degrees. When can vi expect a test?

7C better on an i5 750 @4GHz than a NH-U12P, not bad, but not ground breaking either.
OK, this is pretty impressive.

If it actually is 6C better than NH-U12P, then it's as good as Megahalem. Or maybe even better!
It's way bigger, though...
The thing is, though... Need to compare those with similar fans. That would give more accurate results.
I've been using Megahalem for a while now, and it is a great cooler. But considering those 6 heat pipes, the configuration of pipes, and up to 3 fans, then hopefully a few degree better than Megahalem is in reach,
It would be interesting to follow a few tests on this one.
Between this one and the Mega Shadow, my heart swings...
I wish noctua got rid of that color scheme ~_~
I dont believe that the appearance of the fans is nearly as important as the function of the fans. That front fan has vortex notches, wondering if the center fan does as well? I have read about these vortex notches and it seems to improve the flow of air. That may have a very large impact on the performance of this cooler.
no copper base
Uhhhmmm, sorry, but just because it isn't copper-colored, doesn't necessarily mean that it is not made of copper. ;) I highly doubt that they would use anything else than copper or silver on a top of the line heatsink like that. And as silver would make this thing super expensive, I bet that it is nickel plated copper.
So, don't just always go by the looks.
