Someone done Vmod on that card?
Need more juice to go higher, so far 950/1000MHz is possible but anything higher wont go..
I have tried Asus top bios but it does not work on this card..:(

That card seems to be locked from the factory.
Try MSI After Burner 1.3.0 to see if you can increase the voltage.
I would try mod with RBE.. it usually shows voltages to change.. when its possible..
Btw. you donīt have enough voltage, or you canīt OC it higher? (due lock in Catalyst and VGA BIOS). For voltage.. I guess that voltmod should work? :D
I have tried with RBE to increase voltage without success. It doesnt seem to respond to softmods.
Since it is a different IC for Vgpu, I dont think that msi after burner will work, but Iīll give it a shot.
can someone figure out a hardmod for it?

duke_111, measure resistance between pin8 and GND.
640ohm is between pin 8 and GND.
When measuring between GND and the red dots it shows also 640ohm.

Isn't a reference one ? I think if you flash to an Asus bios you'll can use Asus soft to increase the voltage
duke_111, for Vmod You can use 20k ohm VR between pin8 and GND.
The XFX 4770 (HD-477A-YDFC) is a ref. card the msi afterburner 1.3 have support for it and with the asus top bios asus smartdoctor has as well and the wmod is the same as on all the other HD4770 cards..

I will try it out as soon as I get my soldering iron. Where do I measure the Vgpu??
It doesnt work because it has a different IC for Vgpu.
I have tried both asus smartdoctor and msi afterburner without success hence the hardmod request.

I had 5 of those HD-477A-YDFC and they where all ref. cards

Its obvious that this is a reference design PCB but with missing components,surely to cut down the costs and promote the cards for sale cos they have a stock probably!!
They removed the ST controller which should be more pricy and they also removed 1 phase...5 mosfets and some caps...They stick a uP controller and there u have a 4850 power circutry!!!
The mod should be the same as the 4850 IMO...
This is some strange CRIPPLED 4770!!!
I thought u could add another phase from another card but then again the uP controller only supports 2....

I've also the same card with black PCB and i need to hardmod it however i can't see any pin8 on the pic...can somebody help me ?
I bought this card a few days ago. However, I'm having problems clocking it within the latest version of MSI Afterburner. Basically, whenever I move a slider for the core or memory clocks (not tried voltage yet) and hit apply, the sliders just move back to the stock clocks. Annoying, as I'm limited in overclocking at present.
Has anyone had any success in overclocking this card with software voltage adjustment?
OK, figured this out. The Afterburner configuration file needed a couple of small modifications. Now I can adjust voltage and get increased clock speeds to stick. No idea why it didn't work out of the box though.
