I managed to push that ASRock X58 Extreme board to new heights:)
225MHz BCLK was kind of piece of cake, just with original cooling and no mods. Bios is v1.40.

And now I`m battling to make 230MHz BCLK stable.
This really is unbelievable mobo in itīs price class.

975 is not the best to make high BCLK.... you need to try with a xeon or 920.. 975 have low BCLK walll

Nice board for it's price. 150euros and good board as other boards priced around 220-240€.

Apologies for bringing up a thread. Bought one of these a while back ago for the going $170 price from newegg, still sitting in its box while I come across the rest of my hardware for a new build. Been a LONG time since I've been in this game (my last new build was a Barton 2500+ back in 2003, and it only lasted around 6 months before the whole thing went to crap, for various personal reasons).
Anyway, I bought this board near the beginning of September. At that point, there were about 2-3 dozen perfect user reviews on the egg, without much bad to say. As usual, tons of bad boards started popping up as soon as I got mine. On the other hand though, the number of bad experiences doesn't seem much worse, if any, than the rest of the overpriced x58 boards listed there. Last time I checked, the amount of negative experiences with most of the popular (expensive) x58 boards by Asus, Gigabyte, EVGA, were much higher than one would normally expect, and if I'm not mistaken, quite a bit higher than past platforms. Why is this? Is it just because it was a new chipset? How would that be the case though when LGA775 always remained solid from the start, didn't it? What ever happened to quality control?
At the time, I saw this board as pretty much the only option for an i7-920, because there was no way in hell I was going to spend nearly $300 or more for a motherboard. Hopefully, I won't run into ton of issues with it as others have. I just thought I'd bring this up and see if I'd get any response from other owners of this motherboard. Does anyone know if the LAN issue has been resolved? Have you run into any other defects with the board?
I guess I've just been a bit nervous about the reliability of this board since I bought it 3 months ago. But then again, it still remains brand new in the box, so it very well might work out 100% for all I know. Can't wait to finish the build and find out for sure. In the meantime, all I can do is keep hoping for the best. Finally picked up a 920 D0 the other night from Microcenter for $200, looking forward to that.

I just bought one too and really excited what it can do with i7 960 and Dice :) Will report back when i have completed OC ;)

I am in absolute love with this motherboard!!! I bought 3x2GB of RAM when I upgraded my computer, and at first the motherboard could only read 2. That was the only worry I've had with it. Fortunately it turns out all I needed was a BIOS update in order for it to see all 6GBs.
I overclocked my Intel Core i7 920 from 2.6GHz to 3.8GHz with a single push of a button on the BIOS. And I'm using the stock Intel cooler and it's been running BEAUTIFUL! No problems whatsoever!!
