well I'm still not decided on my choice of a upgrade path, but I'm seriously looking into the new P55. Bought the Swiftech GTZ SE from frozen cpu that was on sale for 40 bucks.Im wondering when or if, swiftech and other companies will release brackets designed for the new socket 1156. The mobos and parts are already out, and hope to water cool my rig as soon as possible, so maybe Gabe or anyone have some info.
I'm sure they will, Koolance has annouced they have one out now.
If you look thought blocks, had pay good attention to the Supreme, and Supreme LT from EK, they used a slot to link 775 to 1366, so any block that uses the same bracket for 775 and 1366, and has a slot design. You can use with 1156.
But for the other who use a set hole for a bracket i would at least think you would be waiting a few weeks.
Yeah, I've been using a Supreme LT for 1156. Good to see other manu's jumping out with brackets so quickly :yepp:
I'm sure Swiftech will shortly as well :)
i know some of the P55 boards have holes for 775 brackets......
Fusion V2 with a washer would do very well on those boards too...Quote:

Yeah, have the GTZ too. Using it at 775 platform and have the 1366 Swiftech kit, but now I'm going to upgrade most prolly to 1156.
Any chance some1 can give me the dimensions for the backplate of 1156's socket at least?
Would try to make one and have it ready when I get P55 mobo and CPU.
Hold-down plate from 1366 kit can be modified, I think, to suite 1156 since the holes are at smaller radius around the socket than the 1366 ones...
