msi p55-gd65 and 750 / 860 Test
Lynfield in Korea can be seen easily.

I use True Black 120 Cooler:D

CPU: Intel Core i5 750 / i7 860 Lynfield
Mainboard: MSI P55-GD65
RAM: G.SKILL DDR3 4G PC3-16000 TRIDENT 2x4G
VGA: GeForce 7600 GT
HDD: WD SATA2 500G
Power: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX
Cooler: True Black 120 R
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Utimate K 64bit

hey, go into the bios and change the memory settings (subtimings). look for the "B2B-CAS Delay" and set ist to 1 - 4 and you will see that the memory performance will be much better ;)

Please test the Asrock P55 EXTREME too... I can buy it very cheap in my country it's 30$ cheaper than a P55-GD65... And it's a SLI board and has a good VRM 8+2 phases... So please very much test it too to see how it work..

It looks pretty good, it has power/reset/clear cmos buttons, DEBUG PANEL and LGA 775 holes so it's a pretty interesting board ...:up:

Ye... thisis very interesting because I am just wondering the same thing, I have been looking everywhere and all the good cooling solutions like Prolimatech Megahalems are for 1366, not 1156.

This is causing me problems.

man NOBODY is giving away there cooling secrets.. I see a BUNCH of ppl cooling these platforms with high end coolers and yet NONE of them are giving straight answers how the hell they r using them.

thermal right NDA on new mouting bracket? seems a little petty buts its the only think i can think of... unless the holes are the same spacing as lga 775, this chip is the same size..... anyone want to check?

I typed in this:

heatsink spacing 1156 mm

and the first thing that popped up was this article at TechPowerUp

"With a hole spacing of 75 mm, LGA-1156 is somewhere along the way between LGA-775 with a spacing of 72 mm, and LGA-1366 with that of 80 mm."

That's why new brackets are needed and why you can't swap coolers without new mounting hardware. The holes in the motherboard are unique for socket 1156.

This is exactly why we are all so confused how many people seemed right off the bat to be mounting all manor of :banana::banana::banana::banana: all over there new LGA1156 and not mentioning how the hell they was doing it.

I think we are all well aware 1156 is not the same as 775 and 1366
