It's not better than the other three (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte) plus DFI always has very buggy bios.

DFi, nothing else if you want to OC.. yes, there are sometimes bugs in BIOS, but they improve them constantly.. its like one BIOS version per month.. unlike other manufacturers. I had 4 mobos from them, all perfect, never had any BIOS bug problems. Tough, its not easiest for OC.. its for experienced user, nothing like ASUS/MSI/GB BIOSes for BFU. :D But if you have already eVGA, I think you´ll deal with that easily..

MSI has some nice mobos too, but almost 99,9% of their mobos is always benchmark slower than others.. dunno why, but it simply is little bit slower (not much max 5% from average). Otherwise, they are quite stable and good, especially those new ones..

ASUS .. without comments, I hate them, I´ll always do and I won´t give a penny/cent to them.. super-big mainstream manufacturer with less then non-existing customer support/service and zero care about his customers. Mobos are quite good, but nothing exceptional.. well its ASUS, it CAN´T be exceptional. Lower end from them is super-trash.. (not saying that from other manufacturers isn´t but for example even GB ones tends to survive longer, and low-end DFi are actually quite good - for low-end).

GB .. nothing interesting for AM2/AM2+/AM3 .. plus their quality testing is sometimes non-existing.. I got one mobo from them (X48), dead from factory.. got second, died in one week.. I got money back.. sure, lots of other users have different experience, but this one is mine.. and until they make some really good, I won´t buy anything from them. At this moment I don´t see any reason to buy something from them, cause everything they can do, can others do better.

DFi isn´t flawless.. but their mobos are usually very well build and survive something. I had only one issue with them, and that was squeeling, probably from coils.. but none else except me heard that.. I have bat-ears or sumthing I guess.. Only "fault" from DFi is, that their BIOS isn´t exactly from begginer. :)

The MSI is faster clock per clock.......

DFI is not listening to enthusiasts at this point in time.......best I can tell you so please do not defend them.....I am unbiased and use all brands but facts are facts and behind closed doors DFI is not being a team player......

They may get the highest cpu clock......but a usable 24/7 cpu clock is far better than bragging rights.

FYI gigabyte's have a higher survival rate on Phenom II than DFI.......especially where it matters most ( air and water )

Asus boards are strong as well, so they have droop....big deal compensate and it works fine.....asus shines on air water and DI......and to date clocks 2x2g extremely well as long as you don't go sub 90C.........

My 2 c air / water = MSI 1st with giga and asus tied for second
Phase goes to Asus
DI goes to giga
Ln2 goes to giga

This is with factoring in performance at X clocks and reliability and effeciency......I'm sure alot of asus guys will hate me for saying it but bottom line a "good" board is a needle in a haystack......I want to OC on ln2 not come up with 20 workarounds and waste 90L before I can bench solid.....Giga is pour and go.....

If you read a lot of reviews you'll like the 790FX-GD70 for all it's features. Heck, FutureMark got a bad GD70 and beat it up and then got a good one and you should read thier review if any at all. You'll agree that the GD70 is a great choice.

just want to reinforce here - this is straight up false information you've posted here, as chew already noted the MSI 790fx-GD70 performs noticeably better clock for clock than all the other top AM3 boards.

Just look at his past posts......I wouldnt take any info from him about AMD as educated.

rephrase that please.....Its not faster in one bench namely PI.

MSI royally kicks Asus's ass in 03 at same clocks in a 4 card .cfg 10K points ;)

Considering that 4x crossfire is one of both boards marketing points I say that makes a huge diff.

4card x-fire ain't gonna happen on a Crosshair III as it only has 2 pci-e slots :D.

My opinion was based on what we saw in SuperPi, assuming it is at least as fast or faster.

Still wondering why Vince and macci went to get a M4A79T to bench it under LHe at the quakecon event after the Gigabyte went finicky and no MSI board.

Bad pwm under extreme cold maybe? :shrug: I know Sampsa killed one of his best chips on a GD70.

They never planned to use MSI. Had they used giga they probably would have had more bench time and less headache's but the plan was to use asus.

Gigabyte went finicky due to a faulty PSU, I think any brand would have gone finicky under those circumstances ;)

The asus is strong in PI thats about it....giga I think has cinebench on lock...all depends on the way the board is tuned by manufacturer.

I tested all 3 main ddr III boards and i compared the ddr II variants as well. The asus were always better at PI.

In 4 card .cfg msi is a beast as long as it survives at + 1.7vcore

We hit 165K 03 on MSI, best I could pull with tad higher clocks was 157ish on asus, seems asus optimized the ram department, MSI optimized the PCI lanes could also explain there choice of NB placement , giga appears to have optimized cpu.

If you test all 3 MSI tends to come out on top in majority.

I didn´t have this particular mobo in my hands, but according to reviews on net, it´s on par with ASUS, usually little bit slower, but not much.. sometimes faster. It will probably depend on user´s skill and HW combo used.

I just take a look on HWbot.. first places with for example PII 955 BE .. ASUS, ASUS.. more ASUS.. and usually one GB and DFi.. no MSI at all..

If "pro´s" choose this mobos, they probably know what they are doing.. :)

Btw. if DFI isn´t "listening to enthusiasist" why those "pro and enthusiasist" use them? Doesn´t make much sense to me..

Anyway.. choose of goods is always on buyer. :)
