Wow, that is on the worst OCing motherboard I have ever used too.
-
I thought Athlon II x2 was native dual core??
And ECS?? C'mon. Just because a board can go up to x25 multi doesn't mean it will get anywhere close to achieving that...

Athlon II x2 240 is limited to x14 multi normally, this one did x18 so your point being...?
This is still a Dual-Core as seen in CPU-Z but very weird it "unlock" into a Operton/Black Edition CPU...
Would be fun to see what a x25 multi Regor can manage under Ln2 ;)

I could get my Athlon II X4 BE after all!
-
wow, it seems anything is fair game when it comes to unlocking with AMD.
-
is this only for an ES processors? coz there are many X2 240 out there, yet no one report it being unlocked to opteron (or Black Edition CPU fo that matters)
-
Time for some budget OC'ing, 240's are cheap!:D
I understand why cores or cache can be unlocked, but multipliers?
Opterons aren't unlocked to begin with. .
This could mean that it either is because of that specific board, which I highly doubt, or otherwise it should work on EVERY A2!
Together with a cheap 785G it would be a great combo!
I'd like to see someone duplicate this tho.

What ACC settings did he use to unlock it? I've been playing around with ACC on my 245 and I've never had this happen.

I'm used to black edition so didn't realize that multi couldn't be normally changed . I still think this is fishy...

first time in the world ????
unlock multi
-
someone unlock the 945 please ;)

Well, I may have to buy a 240 just to try this, because it seems like a no go on my 245. Not sure if I'm limited by the 770/710 NB/SB chipsets, or the processor, but the proc. seems like a better idea than a new board.
-
Wow I'm stupid. I thought this was to quad.
But nice on the multi.

ACC Hybrid Auto doesn't work?
-
Tried ACC on both settings, hybrid and normal, on auto and with various different combos of manual settings, both per core and for all cores. I'll be happy to test any settings that may work.
Running the F2c BIOS for my GA-MA770T-UD3P right now, BTW. Flashed to F2 to give them a try as well.

This doesn't sound like a yield-issue so it should work for every single Athlon II x2 240 (245/250???). If it does work I am getting one this instant ^^
-
Maybe this is the same thing that was happening with people unlocking the 710's multiplier.
http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?htt...ii_unlock.html try their method i guess.
