I wish that I had built a PII rig instead of my Core i7... I used to only ever build systems with AMD chips, and I never had any trouble with them, but this time I decided to move over to Intel because of all the stuff I had read about them, so I went ahead and built a rig using the Gigabyte EX58 UD5, and a D0 Stepping Core i7 920, and I have had nothing but problems with it from day 1...
I can't even get the system stable @ stock frequency, and I have tried absolutely every possible hardware config with all the gear I have lying around the house, and each setup give me the exact same results...
I bought another set of RAM and new PSU for testing, I have tried 3 GFX cards, 3 SATAII HDD's, built the system outside the case with bare minimum connected, and again I get the exact same problems...
I RMA'd the processor, and the motherboard, and they have both been tested and have been found not faulty!!!
And the other hardware has been tested on another system and they are all working perfectly... I personally thought it was the mobo that was giving me my problems, but the guys I bought it from say that it is fine... so I really don't know what else to do...
I should have just stuck with AMD instead of switching over to Intel.....
What are you using to cool your CP?U??
