Q6600 @ 535FSB 4 Cores / 545FSB 2 Cores

Hi, this morning i'v been doing some overclocking my Q6600.

Remember this is a 65nm Quad CPU.

Hardware:
CPU: Q6600 ofc
Mobo: Gigabyte UD3R
RAM: Cellshock PC2-8500 CL5's D9GMH
PSU: TT 750watt
Video Card: Gainward HD4870 GS
Cooling: 3/4hp SS unit by Kayl

I'd say it pretty much is. :p Now, can you pair that FSB up with the 9x multiplier? :D

It's not bad, but I don't know if I'd call that extreme. Nice job on the FSB OC though.

Most of hwbot q6600 top scores beat it, good job anyway. Now try to make it with x9 multiplier :)

Fine mate :up: Like i told you on MSN, my old Q66 was able to reach 531Mhz on air, 4 cores enabled (http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=348667). Go and try x9, maybe you'll be able to bench around 4.5Ghz :p:

This is only my third time overclocking my Q6600, and i'v only been overclocking seriously for about 8 months now.

The chip does 4.05GHz w/ 1.344vcore stable and 4.3GHz w/ 1.5vcore benching stable. So its pretty dam good in my opinion. Also it scales great with the cold.

I'm giving high GHz a shot soon today. Also within the next 2 months I should be able to get this chip under LN2 or Cascade or both :yepp:

Good job, i really miss my q6600 and since i went to i7 i'm not really impressed for the price/performance....................
Maybe i was expecting too much, just not really "wowed" by it, like i was when i went to a 775 q6600.

I was like you too.. but I did feel some differecen beetwen the Q6600 and i7 920... Probably because my cpu cooler wouldn't let me OC the Q6600 over 3.5ghz... that cpu used to be a vcoreholic...

But certainly not the same difference I felt from E4400@ 3.0

I'v ordered my i7 PC yesterday, but i'm not selling anything I already have.

Also i'v just spent 2hours trying to get to 4.545GHz (as I'd done before) and this mobo just isn't letting it happen. Its fine until i have to load Windows, then it BSODs. I even posted at 4.8GHz just for a laugh.

It is a good job you've been doing.. congrats!

Although it's awkward to see your E5200 "beating" the E8X00 (don't remember which one right now, sorry)

Sure there's more work to be done on the latter than the former :up:

If your referring to my sig, very sorry, the E8500 is meant to be 5.32GHz, and the E5200 should be 5.187GHz. My bad, i'll go fix that up now :) Thanks for pointing that out.

Nah, mainly cause I don't have a 3D benching HDD setup anymore :( - In the next week for so i'll most likely get one setup.
