Hy all !
I need to know how to do the vmem and de vgpu on this card.
As i said , i need the vmods for the AGP 8x PCB .
All i can find are the vmods for the 4x cards.
Thx in advance
PS - It's a gainward golden sample

Look on the back side of the video card, usually at the opposite end from the VGA connection. You need to find the 2 voltage regulator chips, and the part numbers from those chips.
If you have a digital camera, you could take some close-up pictures and post them here for help.
I did it for the Creative GF4 Ti4200 8X... actually it was the first vmod that I figured out on my own. Lemme see if I can find the pic, I'll post it.
Does yours look like this? I have a better version of this pic @ home that shows with the pins to connect (and voltage reading points). I can post it tonight if needed.
The vreg on the left is vmem, and the one on the right is vgpu.
I fried my vmem at 4.6v+
Here's my Gainward 8x pic.
If someone knows how to do it i would aprecciate.
Thxs ;)

ShortC, what does the ICs you soldered say?Quote:

Mad, it looks like you may have one of those cards where one IC actually controls both voltages (vgpu/vmem) as I only see the one IC with the tell-tell 14 pins on it.
I just picked up a gainward ad could use some help. Here's some pics. I'm thinking on the core I should go from the vsen to ground but not sure and I don't have a clue about the other one. Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry about these next two posts. I can't figure out how to put multiple images in the same post.
And the other.
Let me look over the data sheets for those ics and get back to you.

this is the page of rt9203 and 9226b ;)
my too have this ic regulator in my vga, gainward ultra/750 ti4800se.
anyone help us?? :(
The R9203 should be a simple FB to ground mod.
(pin8 (FB) to pin3 (GND) or other appropriate positions)
If you follow the traces from the pin you should see the resistor devider.. and that will give some idea of what VR to use.
If you cant just start at 500k or 1mo and work down.. slowly.
On the 2226B its a similar story.
This time FB is pin4 gound is pin 6, again solder to the easyest place, following traces if necicary.
Again, start with a big VR (500k or 1mo) and work down slowly.
There is also overcurrent via pin2, its not well explained in the PDF but If you think you are tripping the overcurrent lift pin2.
This is usually unnecicary for vga mods.
this is the datasheet of 9203
thx 1k holst, the 9203 is pwm of gpu and 9226b is pwm of memory?
PS:sorry for my english :(
vr vout
5k 1.632
2.5k 1.664
1.5k 1.7
1k 1.76
800 1.8
600 1.86
500 1.92
450 1.95
400 2v!
for 9203!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done King, glad to see it worked out.
Hollst, so the VSEN pin on the 9226 isnt anything to worry about for this mod then?
Those PDF's are a bit short... so its not easy to tell.
In the example diagram FB and Vsen and shorted together... if your card is like then then it wont matter at all.
If its not then ill need to know more about how the circuit is setup.
I hooked a 10k to the vsen on the core and A 20k on the fb pin for the mem. I don't know how to read the data sheets but remembered using fb on my 9700 pro and saw at xbits they used the sens leg on a ti 4600. Do you think I would be better off on the fb for the core? The voltage goes up with it on the vsen. The only thing is that I was only able to gain 15 mhz. As far as the ram goes I got mine from 730 to 760 with 3 volts. The thing is that 3dmark 01 is clean at 760 but if I bench 03 I see artifacts in proxy above 720 just like I do with no volt mod.
hi, i'm king ;)
i've make the volt-mod but i don't know when i measuring the v-gpu :(
only 2 condensator then have a vdef 1.65 volts are in a pic

can you help me with this problem?? :(
Ah, gotta love that search function... 9203 is also found on the shuttle AN35N :DQuote:

Half the vmods I have done on my motherboards and video cards I found off a thread about modding a different hardware than mine. :hehe:Quote:

I found the Vgpu of my graphics card from a motherboard mod.
Tried FB to ground on the shuttle with 2K (all I have around).
No go.
