Coollaboratory Liquid MetalPad

I am not sure if I believe this but I went from 52C idle, the gtx285 is jammed between an areca 1231ml, to 44C idle:shocked:. I was using zalman stg1 before because it's easy off easy on. And now that my rig is how I want it to be and don't need to swap aything anymore I went with this stuff. I did 3 burnin runs with furmark blocking the fan to get 110C. This stuff is amazing, look out dough it drips a little, lucky I new this and put some paper to collect it. :clap::up: wtg metalpad

that's why I used the zalman goo before, now i'm 100% sure how I want everything. I'm ready to burn in the cpu now, fingers crossed

Hm, might have to give this a try. Swapped back to stock cooler on the X2 and now having temp problems. Well technically temp problems while maintaining silence. AC better release their damn cooler soon.

burning in was a bit of a problem, got bsod with prime. So I went into bios and covered the heatsink with paper and let it go up to 85C. Idle temps are the same as stg1 (but my ambient is 4C higher now). Load is a different story, I am running prime now (i7 4.0 Ghz) and before I would hit 80C immediately slowly rising to 85 after a couple of hours. I am now at 72 after 10 min, so I think this is a big improvement too.

seems like you are getting really good results. i haven't seen anyone get these nice of changes but it might be because the zalman you had before wasn't very good.

If you look at the results posted across the net, you see they are among the best with gpu's but suck with cpu's. The only difference I can think of is the heat, gpu's run much hotter on average and you need to burn this stuff in first. And yes you are right, stg1 can show good idle results but as soon as things start to load up it shows it defects, so it's not the best tim to compare it too. I went with a second burnin for the cpu, this time I went in bios to 101C, I now have 2-3C better idle temps and load is still too early to say but 1hrs+ with prime it's 74C as before I would have been way over 80C by now.

You have to use a sandpaper to get it of. And therefore it is not recommended to use on the GPU!!!

I have applied it once. It was a pain in the ass and I got same/better temps with arctic silver ceramique. And I think it was something about that you shouldn't apply it to aluminum or something. maybe that was some other paste.

Edit: Ohh thought you got the paste. Misread the post... I thought it was the Coollaboratory Liquid Pro

this is the same thing but stronger and it most likely does conduct electricity. i personally have not seen great results with this pad so all the cons it has makes it seem like a no brainer not to get it but i might look into it because if it is better than all the others it might be nice to try.
