Whole setup went boom.
Well, actually it didn't even go boom, it just turned itself off while sitting idle in windows at stock settings about 2 minutes after windows install had completed.
Since then can't turn it on anymore.
Only thing that happens is leds in cpu cooler turn on for about 0,5 seconds, then it's dead again, no post no nothing.
Allready tried swapping ram, psu, gpu... didn't help.
Also tried the real bios reset by removing the bios battery but didn't help.

when testing your memory past 1600 see if the bios resets back to stock, thats the problem im having with my board. but it wasnt a problem with asus, so try with your ram and see what happens

Your memory should be in slots 1&2 or 3&4 for dual channel operation. Looks like you have it in 1 and 3. I'd put it in 3&4 to give the CPU cooler some breathing room.
Can't wait for that same combo to arrive tomorrow :)
my test shows that the slots furthest from the cpu gives the better oc on ram thats with the giga and asus board

Have you tried removing your motherboard from the computer case and doing a 'bare-bones' boot attempt with the m/b sitting on a non-conductive surface? There could be a short when it is mounted in the case.Quote:

Unfortunately the board doesn't have anything that would help, no led that lights up when it has power and no error code display...
And I don't even know if it is the cpu or the board that is dead, so no dice on returning the faulty one as it would also mean returning the non faulty one which is not a option, so I am sitting on a 270£ pile of trash..... so much for giving amd another chance.:mad:

Every once in a while one of my backup rigs will just die and not turn back on, and only restart if unplugged/switched off on PSU for 10+ minutes, a hard bios reset doesn't do anything. It's done this with more than one PSU... just worth a try I suppose.
ive had this happen with a system before. my ultra x-connect 2 550 Watt blew and i grabbed a spare antec. still wouldn't boot. 2 weeks later i try again and bam it works. naturally after i got all my wolfdale stuffQuote:
