Is AMD Phenom II X4 + DDR3 capable to break current 3DM06 WR?

Answer is yes, but not yet. It will happen in near future :up:


We had this (a bit crazy) OC session in Sampsa's place: http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...d.php?t=216534

We focused on 3D in the event and Sampsa tested memory overclocking and 05 in Thursday evening. On Friday, we decided to start pushing in 3DM06.

Previous AMD record was a bit low, cause my CPU was not good for it: http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...d.php?t=215526

This time our NB scaled a lot higher with high CPU MHz. NB was running at 4386MHz in our 3D tests.

Overclockers (Team Finland):

AMD Phenom II X4 AM3 engineering sample
Asus M4A79-T Deluxe (790FX + SB750)
2 GB Corsair DDR3-1800
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 CrossFireX

Kingpin F1 EE + LN2 cooling

Catalyst 9.1 WHQL (Not FM accepted yet)

Performance in 06 is really good :up: Next we will test some better CPU's and cool down the VGA's too.

What Vcore you used to get all four cores near 6GHz 3Dbenchable????

AMD is definately a contender in the race for 05 and 06 again, who would have thought that a year ago?

Keep pushing guys, 06 WR on AMD would be da bomb. :up:

Vcore was 1,8V from BIOS.

6150 - 6200 MHz for CPU and some boost to VGA clocks should give +35,2k.

exactly, thats why the score kicks ... now its not 1/2 cores that have reasonable clocks, but instead all 4
