Hi,
I'm looking to buy this card and watercool it, but I heard there are multiple revisions to the PCB. How do I know which waterblock to get? I plan on getting the Koolance full cover.

Thanks.

Yes that is a reference PCB and your all set
if you want a new/unused nickel EK block for cheaper than the koolance shoot me a PM
i have the nickel ek block. its pretty amazing, i absolutely love it. my only qualm is the standoffs thing. find yourself some nylon washers and your golden!
actually, i have that exact same card too! great picks IMO
Just to show what changed, upper one is the first one (the one where all blocks will fit), the second one is the newer one (however not all companies switched to it).
(thanks AC for the picture)
there are 3 other types of PCB as well, but the reference is the best IMO (all be it a bit more difficult to air cool)
I 'm getting the XFX 4870, I already have the Koolance block for it.
Anyone know if it uses the reference design?
Thanks for all the help guys.
that card has a 10off i was tempted.. :)
Thank you Sniipe! I tried the XFX section and emailed them and no reply.
I just hope I don't get something else. Would suck not being bale to cool that sexy black beast :D
Pretty expensive for the XFX version. Any benefits vs the HIS version?
only the lifetime warranty and black PCB, otherwise the cards are literally identical
the HIS version i just bought was a blue PCB with black DVI ports. nothing too important/different but enough to make a note IMO. i personally enjoy the blue PCB over the red, and the black DVI matches my case well. nothing was planned :D
I agree Bronix, I cant stand the red pcb or some green ones on Nvidia
Hence why I want a black PCB from the XFX card. Either that Or I buy an x2 :p:
I still have a system running with a 6600GT AGP and it's working grand. If it dies I'll RMA it ;)
Yeah you better :P
Actually thats my current system :D
Dont suppose anyone got a list of what manufactures are using the new PCB then? :P
I planned on air cooling a 1GB card in my next build and it would need to a blue PCB model. I know Sapphire have a few in their range and Gigabyte also do blue ones, so if I can get one with analog PWM's it's be ideal. :D
show me a card and I can tell you which it is :)
i liked the digital pwm =(
I want the original reference of my waterblock is useless :(
