Primochill Pure & liquid utopia issue

Quick question for anyone that also uses this liquid if you can help.

Just bought a bottle of pure and added a dye bomb but i also added the primochill liquid utopia as i was concerned about corrosion inhibators with this liquid.

filled my system with about 2/3rds of the bottle and after a couple of days i've noticed a lot of strands of something, floating at the bottom of the liquid still in the bottle. Not rly sure how to describe it but if u buy a bottle of concentrate orange and leave it standing for a day, the pulp sinks to the bottom- it looks like that.

I'm guessing this isnt normal but everyone i know doesnt use primochill liquids and cant say for certain if its supposed to be like this esp since i added the utopia addative, so just wanted to know if this is normal or if its time to get the rad flush out

What matters is what the fluid in your loop looks like? If there is no strands floating in it I would leave it.

I've got some Pure coolant, and nothing has happened like you describe. Must be something to do with the Utopia additive. IIRC, Pure was released long after the Utopia products, so they may not be meant to be used with each other.

Are you mixing metals?

I'm also using Pure and it seems ok.

How long did it take for it to go like this ?

No shouldn't be, i have a dtek fuzion v2 with ek barbs accross the loop, used it these in my previous loop for over a year using firstly zalman addative then feser one with no probs

well i guessing it was clear utopia, bought it from overclockers.co.uk and it said it compatible with any dye bomb.

Yeh only noticed tonight whats in the bottle, been on shift for 3 days since i installed the loop and the pump was already on tonight when i looked at the bottle .

I have a bottle of pc ICE with the same colour dye bomb which i will test tomorrow to see if something similar happens to it.

I installed the loop on thursday, been at work everyday since but noticed it in the liquid thats still in the original bottle tonight, havent had a chance to check the liquid in the loop yet

Just use distilled if you aren't mixing metals all these specialized coolants don't offer and protection from short circuit in the case of a leak, they also cost a fortune, and they all will wind up clogging your loop as dyes and the such come out of suspension.

Maybe they put stem cells in that stuff and a alien is starting to grow in his loop. :ROTF:

The Utopia stuff fades within a few months anyway, and the colours are no better than any other option, really. That said, I've never seen crap like that in my experience, so maybe it was past it's shelf life. Or the dye managed to react badly. Not impossible, despite manufacturers claims.

If you want colour, coloured tubing really is the way to go these days.

I also would recommend the colored tubing, and running plain distilled with some biocide and possilby anti-corrosion additive just for safety. This will even improve the performance of your loop.

He is in the uk, (atleast assuming it since he bought the stuff from a uk online shop), which means he can't just buy distilled water, thats something insane expensive and made to order here, you don't walk into a shop and just buy it, trust me, in the uk those rip off liquids are the best choice.
