That FX board is pure Sex! DDR III Also!
Thanks for the link :)
Interesting part is the pin count on the socket AM3(not the chip pin count,but the socket "hole" count):
Quote:
MSI 790FX-GD70
* AMD 790FX/SB750 Chipset
* Supports AMD Socket AM3 (941-pin) Phenom II / Athlon processor
* 4 x PCI-E x16 slots support ATI CrossFireX Technology
* Supports four dual-channel DDR3 1333 memory slots up to 16GB
* Utilizes DrMOS chipset
* APS(Active Phase Switching)
* Dual 10/100/1000 Mb/s LAN Ports
* High-quality 7.1-channel audio
* 8 SATAII and 1 eSATA hard disk interface, support RAID 0/1/0+1/5
* 2 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI slots
* 12 x USB 2.0, 1 x IEEE1394a
I like the G70 looks nice. Makes me wonder if I should wait on upgrading. i7 or AM3...
The slots would be nicer in red. :D

Any news on a release date?
OMG i am SO glad i waited. First Gigabyte and now MSI. The FX board is simply amazing. I guess there's more to come :devil:
AM2+ socket has 940 pins, AM2+ cpu has 940 pins, am3 socket has 941 pins........Not the cpu.....the extra pin hole is in the corner........

Cpu pin difference
Left AM2+ 940 Right am3 938........

If you count the pins and the sockets am2+ does not physically fit...
BTW it looks like the AM3 board thread and what we would like to see in a board paid off......I see alot of our wants/suggestions being utilyzed in the new am3 boards.....

I really dig the looks of the FX board.
Sexy, I might just have to replace the k9a2 Plat with one of them once I get the am3 system going. And the pin layout has always been known about. It makes it so the AM3 cpu can fit in the am2+ socket, but the AM2+ cpu cannot fit in the AM3 socket.

Red definitely looks better but i'm just happy its two tone.
I'm assuming SLI will still work on these boards?
This board 790FX - GD70 looks prety nice but if we like test this board from MSI you must have CPU from AMD because you couldīnt buy it in shop but AMD dont take it for tests :rofl: itīs super combination :ROTF:
Not bad looking but I think the Gigabyte board seems like it'll be as good and cheaper.
I'm not sure what are you saying here.My guess is that you said AM3 CPUs are not available yet?That's correct,but as of next month,you will be able to buy 925 and lower models of AM3 Phenom IIs and use it with this board.
@Caveman787 (before your edit :) )
Where did you see 8x pcie slots(i guess you meant 8x)?

That is one sexy board.
The one thing I don't like about it (if it is indeed true) is that the jumper to reset the bios is up under the 2nd PCI-E slot. That would not be cool if I have to take one of my cards out every time I need to reset it. I hope there is another option.
Black and blue is a much better color combination IMO. There are fout push buttons in the lower right corner similar to the M3A79-t, I wonder if one of those would be cmos reset? Just cant think of what else there would be. Power, reset.....???
I want that GD70. I'm foaming at the mouth, I love black/blue.
I can't use my 940BE in this can I? :(
the fx looks really nice would look better in my system than my m3a32 does. too bad im holding out until the rd890 and sb800 boards.
