Cosmos S Project

Hello all i decided to update and paint my cosmos s while i wait for my maximus II formula to arrive. my goal is true blue for the exterior, flat black for the frame, and silver for the mesh. ill update the log as i go along. stay tuned!


i got the mesh and top exterior piece done last night, along with the frame. which is blotchy cause i took the pic while it was still wet. and one exterior side peice. im gonna try to a HDD reverse mod inside the HDD cage so the wires will be completely hidden, only when they come from behind the mobo and up from the side to the sata ports will they be visible. i also included a pic of the setup i had in the case now out of the case

ill be putting the side panels on pretty soon, they're coming out pretty nice.

looking good so far, sort of like a clio sport blue, a few more coats and maybe some lacquer(sp?) and it will look awesome:up:

In order to remove those parts at the case did you need to 'damage something' or just with a screwdrivers they come loose and you click them back on or is it not that simple to remove the parts?

you have to gently pry the exterior pieces off of the frame. i used a small flat head screw driver with a paper towel wrapped around the end. then they clip right back in. you have to be careful when prying the because you can break the clip or damage the plastic. hope that helps

Just push some pins back in order to remove all of the pieces is that right?

yep, just push and pull clips.

i think the silver works imo, breaks the case up so you can distingish(sp?) the outside from the inside better

got the little HDD box done. i dont know why but in the pics you can see the little specs all over the black paint inside the case, i cant really see them with my eyes and the spots are just wiping off, its like specs of dust or something. which kinda worries me that the dust will be easily easily visible.

they're just reflecting the light from ur flash, you won't really notice the dust too much until it gets thick. keep up the good work.

yeah i like it. Dude, How many Cosmos S Cases do you have? i just now saw the second one in the background haha.

thats the cosmos 1000, the original. its my back up pc just in case. the only thing is i think im gonna steal the side panel off it and A. cut out for a side window B. do a stencil of something and dremel it or C. use the same spiderweb type side that came with the cosmos S and paint the mesh silver and what not. decisions decisions. tomorrow ill be working on trying to mount the triple rad between the top panel and the frame which is gonna be really really tricky but itll look clean.

i think you should get a pearl clear coat spraycan to add its aesthetics

it's additional .. but it gives the "awe" feature when the light bends around it :)

got the reverse mod done, the power wire is NOT what im gonna use, just showing the idea. that way when the HDD's are seen they will not see any wires at all.

i reverse all my hdd now as it creates a bit more space in the case for airflow and any other wires aswel, plus it makes things look 100% tidier :up:
