Mushkin PC3500 Black LV2 @ 237 with 3.15V.Need tips for improvement + Low benches?
Ok after finishing my VDimm mod on my P4C800 E tonight i tried setting the VDimm on my board...took big steps as i saw no improvement in the first turns of my 50K resistor and ended up getting 3.34V :slobber: with 2.65 selected in the bios :p...
Anyways back to 3.15V now with 2.85V selected in the bios and the ram seems to love high volts :D .
Did the mod using an SMD Grabber...
Back on topic now.
From my previous thread my sticks seemed to perform a bit badly...i got prime errors running @ stock speeds.
Memtest just freezes after a few tests
by testing both sticks in dual channel mode or even each stick...
well pushing 3.15V through my ram and having altered some settings by following a post made by Mickey Mouse (thanx mate) with some settings in the bios :
Set Spread Spectrum to Disabled.
Performance Acceleration Mode set to Auto, rather than Enabled
In USB Configuration, set Legacy USB Support to Disabled.
I lowered my timings to 2 2 2 5 and the ram was able to boot windows up to 239fsb
@240fsb the pc rebooted itself.
@239fsb i was able to bench with sandra and then the pc froze...
Now @ 237fsb i am thinking of burning in the ram a bit...
i havent tested the ram yet whether its prime stable or not.
is that kind of low for 3.15V out of my ram?should i push some more voltage through my sticks?wanna keep it safe though for 24/7 since i got a few assignmets for my Masters Degree to start...
The benches with sandra max 3 seem a little low i think...what do you guys think?
Sandra bench of 5319 @ 237fsb 2 2 2 5 1T @ 3.15V
5339

Are these benches a bit low?Any settings i need to change in my bios?
How can i get my sticks to clock higher than that?I just got them today.Do i need to do some burning in and how should i burn them?
I know its too many questions guys but i need to settle on some proper ram after trying xms 3500, twinmos ch 5 3200, xms 3200 ll, ocz gold el 3700, geil pc 4200 etc...
thanx in advance
