Help with my E8400 temp
i have a E8400 cpu and i have overclocked it to 3.80 ghz the only problem im a bit worried about the temperatures
running orthos for 2 hours
core temp i get :
core 0: 46 degreese
core 1:51 degreese
with real temp:
core 0: 42degreese
core 1:46 degreese
running core damage for 10 mins i get:
core temp
core 0: 65degreese
core 1:67 degreese
Real temp
core 0: 61degreese
core 1:63 degreese
With occt tested and its stable for 2 hours temps are:
core 0: 53 degreese
core 1:58 degreese
so if anybody can help me out here and tell wether these temperatures are safe and far from its maximum , thank you in advanced

your core damage temps seem a little high, you generally want your load temps to be under or around 60C
-
it will never get that high on normal load even using orthos or others core damage stress the cpu to maximum possible rate which my pc will never get to that point i just hope its safe and thank you for your quick response

What cooling are you using? If it's an aftermarket HSF then I don't think your temperatures are that bad at all. They could be a touch lower, but they aren't too bad. Depends on the HSF and your thermal compound too, and how you applied it :).

i got a after market AKASA AK-961 COOL BLUE: TRIPLE HEATPIPE COOLER i used the thermal paste it came with

What versions of CoreTemp or RealTemp do you use? Take latest RealTemp, keep distance to TJMax>20-30 and be happy.
Orthos is a real test because those are usual temps while gaming. LinX is for testing your heatsink. :D
-
i done the test with linx like you sujested and this is the result and it said finish without any errors
maximum temp it reached with core temp is 60,61
maximum with real temp is 55 57
this is the linx result let me know if this is ok and also yeh i have latest version both core temp 0.99.3 and real temp 2.70 btw i never used that linx what exactly it test ?? tell me a bit more about it?

Temp seems about normal, from what i saw with my setup... but that was because mine was very uneven.
Lapping gave me very signifigant gains due to the very uneven surface i started with

Pavlos next time use Max mem in LinX. Then you'll see some temperatures. :D
LinX heat up your CPU like no tomorrow. Is very good to check quickly your CPU OC stability and heatsink performance. 10-20 passes without errors is a good sign of CPU stability. Then (to be sure) a couple of hours of prime95/Orthos blend test without errors and you're 99.99999% stable. Rest of 0.00001% is bad luck. :)
Ah and take latest RealTemp from my link above. Now it's 2.90 RC3 and should match CoreTemp readings.

hey where is the link for real temp i also try google it did nt find that version?? yeh i will test it also with max memory already run orthos and prime for some hours and no errors but i will prolong the test , thanks again for all your help
-
Here is the link, and you don't have too look with Google when you have here on XS that version. :)
-
and one more thing whats best is it 9x multiplier or 8x??? and thanks got the real temp now
i have also done max memory on linx maximum temperature it reach was 66 degreese , is that good and also the linx result is good??? thank you
and i have also take a screen shot
