I have been a big fan of the MX-500 and 518 mouses. I just like the fit and feel of the G5.
mx-518 will be in my right hand as long as mine works and they still make it
Lachesis, used to own a MX-518 and i upgraded to the lachesis and I have not looked back since.
I have the MX-518 and it's a fantastic gaming mouse..
Thinking about buying the G9 though..
I have the G5 and I find it a great mouse, I love the weights, and it fits my small hand.
I have the G5 for 3-4 years of unlimited gaming and still feels like new.
Excellent build quality
I have the Microsoft Sidewinder and I love it. Many people do not since it is a bigger sized mouse but it fits my hand how I like it to feel. Plus I think it looks good.
The poll won't really be legitimate unless the person voting has actually tried them all and derived a preference. Just voting for what you use doesn't give accurate data for the "best gaming mouse".
mx1000 ; still have not upgraded my mouse , mainly because i have not found anything better
I voted for the DeathAdder. It's the best gaming mouse I've used. The MX518 is a close second.
Build quality of the MX is >> Deathadder. The latter feels a bit fragile to me.
deathadder - it does get a little warm, but thats the only issue I ever had.
good ol reliable mx-518
Ye olde G5.
I got the MX518, G5, G7, Razer Diamondback.
Mx518 = Perfect, could have more buttons on the side....
G5 = All the good points of mx518 but The weights are a gadget, scroll wheel is not low profile so it sucks if you used application like 3dsmax where you have to press scroll wheel (middle click) alot. I dont like the material used for the cord. The material on the mouse is too porous, like anti-slip material, i dont like that.
G7 = Same as G5 But wireless and loses its battery after 6-7 hours.. worst buy
Razer Diamondback = Really like the feeling of the mouse but, site buttons are really hard to get to and cannot be mapped for "next and back" in IE and Firefox, Middle button too hard to use.
I voted for MX518
My gaming mouse is a G7
I dont game 24/7 so having a wireless mouse was a must for me, even though the G7 is not considered for gaming, I use it for that too and works great.
My mouse of choice is the MX518 because thats the current one im using. Used it for a lot of FPS and never gave me a disadvantage. My old mouse which still works perfectly is the MX510 which I would still be using if the MX518 wasn't on sale lol, mousepad im using is the RatPadz XT which is really nice on the MX518s. I don't have much experience with the other mouses since I don't own them but I don't see how I could get anymore accurate with a different mouse.
Only "game grade" mouse I've used so far is the Deathadder, and I love it. It does have one issue in web browsers where middle-clicking it will seem to randomly make it scroll down or up and any middle-clicks after that will make it scroll up and down again. The fix is to move the scroll wheel up or down to sort of clear the "buffer" and then it will go back to normal. Otherwise it's awesome.
I've used (short time) most of them on various customer's systems. The first time I used a DA I was "wow, gaming mice aren't just hype!" I choose the G5 for its ergonomics -- it's 'grippy' & fits. The sensor guts feel the same to me as the DA, so it just came down to price & feel.
mx500 bodied mouses have always been the best for my hand... they have never done be wrong in CAL and Cevo :)
only other mouse id like to see come out is somthing that has the shape and feel of the old 3 button ball logitech and has the sensitivity of a ikari or lachesis
g5 gets my vote...
Deathadder, don't really like the feel of the MX518, but I could get used to it. The deathadder forms and fits to my hand well. :)
