A bit of advice required again peeps :)
In process of my i7 build and have a little problem with barb fittings.
Using 7/16 tubing on G1/4 1/2 tails.
I ordered these EK barbs and they fit, but do not seal as O Ring does not compress when tightened down on the following components:
XSPC Full Cover Razor GTX280 - Acetal
Swiftech MCR320-QP
Would these be better or even these?
Any help appreciated :)
I have just had a quick check of the barbs we have in stock and the length of the thread on all of them is pretty much the same.
you could try these as they are whats the XSPC block is designed to be used with.

That is not the problem, the threads on the EK barbs are fine, as in short, so no spacer is needed.Quote:

I think some people were able to fit the DD/Bitspower fatboys or Dtek fittings and it sealed just fine, but I'm not entirely sure.
That's strange. I'm looking at my (unused) EK fittings and EK stubs right now, both have the oring protruding ~1mm beyond the recess grove.Quote:

Thx buddy, but the RAD is the new G1/4 type already. Maybe these EK fittings are duds? I ordered 4 at same time and 2 fitted to my Delta 3 block OK. The O Rings do look kinda thin though?Quote:

OK, sorry for crap quality, but only got my phone camera and wanted to get close, but you can just see O Ring is flush with barb head, it actually sits inside and does not protrude much at all?
If you want, go to the local hardware store and get some new ones, thats what I did.
There is something wrong somewhere, he bought high-end fittings. He shouldn't need to go to a random hardware store.

A "useful" pic of the fittings on the rad and/or on the XSPC would be much more helpful. :yepp:

You sure you've tightened them properly on the radiator? I had to tighten them quite hard on my MCR.

I can see your fittings are exactly like mine, except your O Ring sits up from the head quite clearly. Tightening down on mine results in it can go no further, as in the metal is touching the metal, you can feel that there is no compression whatsoever. (Exactly what you get when there is no O Ring fitted)Quote:

Yeah, I have several different styles of EK barbs. The lips on them used to be more pronounced, and the o-ring was not recessed. Now they are recessed, which I think is the true G1/4 standard. This works good on blocks and rads that are flat around where you screw in the barb as it prevents the o-ring from slipping and possibly causing a leak. On swiftech stuff, there is always a recess for their barbs. As far as I know, their rads are still NPSM.
I'm sure you could get new ones if you complain from where you ordered them from. We have an EK representative on this forum, he might also be interested in why your particular fittings don't work.
I am using the Bitspower fittings with my MCR rads with no adapters, and they work just fine. I really like these fittings since they have the slot to keep the o-rings from stretching when tightened.
