Project ntx. lian v2000

Its modding time... a lot of cases out there are based on “bling” and dragons. In my opinion the over use of chrome/multicolored ccfl and or leds is distracting and distasteful. (no offense to the bling crowd, its just not my thing). That being said the foci of this rig will be

1.Performance – the best within budget (ok, maybe a little over budget)
2.WIRE MANAGEMENT! - im going to do battle with every individual wire, all shall be hidden or perfectly ordered.
3.Clean LC loops. - tubes that look like they really belong
4.Simplicity.- no I do not want a dragon etched on it... or anything else really...

to sum it up further, It will be a clean performing machine. I want it to reflect my design style which is usually very dark, very clean and very simplistic. ANYWAY! On to the specs!

• Intel Core i7 920 (to be very oc'ed)
• evga x58 sli
• 6x1gb G.skill DDR3 1600
• 2x BFG GTX 280's
• Corsair 1000HX 1000w modular PS
• a couple of hard-drives in an undecided raid array (still deciding)
• Lian li V-2000B+ (I already own it/love it)
• evga 8600gt for my 3rd monitor (also undecided pending experimentation)

now for the LC loops (parts listed in order of flow in 3/8ID 5/8OD )

Loop 1

• DDC3.2 with the XSPC res top
• Swiftech MCR320 120.3 Rad
• Swiftech Apogee GTZ

Loop 2

• DDC3.2 with the XSPC res top
• Swiftech MCR320 120.3 Rad
• 2x Swiftech MCW60 with full cover sinks

BAM done. The gray is a few shades darker in person. It has a nice toned down metallic effect that I like quite a bit, kind of like a dulled black nickel. ( I know, I didnt paint the bottom section... You wont be able to see it and I didnt feel like masking the HDD rails.)

running beautifully. windows installer didnt like my raid drivers much. i slipstremed them. it wouldnt let me press f6 to install 3rd party drivers and if i tried to configure a raid array it would throw an error and die. :confused:

oh well ill figure that out later.

Yup, looking real good. Be careful when cleaning that window though. If it isn't scratchy now it will probably be if you just use a towel or toilet paper or whatever and whipe around all those particles. Plexiglas/acrylic is very sensitive.

how true.a little trick i learned from personal experience,spray the window with compressed air before cleaning with a cloth,and eyeglass cleaner

Also nice rad placement, but since 1/3 of the rad is blocked by the HDD cage, you will only get performance of 120x2 UNLESS you have something that can draw all the air in. AKA a insanely high speed fan inside the case blowing air out.

the venting along the sides of the cage should alleviate a fair amount of that. plus the entire bottom of the case is vented. should give both rads plenty of air to breath. worse comes to worse ill put a delta in the front to feed them. (but only if i have to as i would hate the noise.)

Are you saying you dont plan on putting any fans on the rads? These kinds of radiator NEED air to be forced through them to function, if you want to go passive you need a far larger surface area (car rad for example).

no, i have a fan shroud (see below) going on each rad with medium speed yates. i was referring to putting a ridiculous high speed fan in the front of the case to feed the yates more air if needed. my hardware is a tad hot to be running passive anything :rolleyes:

wow this case is very nice, simple, clean and looks very good, youve hidden the cables well....i like the way all the black pipes come from the pumps, looks very nice.........i gotta ask, how did u attatch your pumps? im putting the exact same ones into the exact same case, did you velcro them down or screw them in?

The whole rig looks nicely except for the stickers on the window which have to go.

Great build..Love the colour choice and simplicity. It feels very industrial.
