Argh, hit and run on my quarter..!!

Someone smacked my car on Friday in my work's parking lot and left :mad: Now yeah, the car isn't in showroom condition and yeah it has some scratches and dings on that side already from who knows what the previous owner did, but I really didn't need a long crease and gouge in the car! Seriously, it just doesn't match the rest of the scratches :rolleyes:

Going to find out tomorrow if the security camera on the side of the building can see where my car was parked and if so, I intend to find out who hit the car. That person owes me a repaired quarter panel :upset:

At least it's a fairly easy repair. When you find out who did it, your car wont be in the shop for long.

Yeah they should be able to repair those dents fairly easy.
But not sure of the cost as they would have to blend the passenger door
along with the roof.

Hey im no expert.
I have worked on everything BUT paint and body for the last 20 years.
I only started at a collision place a year ago.

I see the guys using their little hammer and dolly lightly beating on
metal and say "Let me get my BFH and fix it in just one hit"

They usually cuss at me.

If I do find out who hit my car tomorrow, part of me isn't looking forward to finding out. I hate confrontations :(

I learned the hard way that you need to use light taps. One of our practical assignments was raising a flat piece of sheet metal into a dome with a center height of 3/4", then shrinking it down to 3/8". LOTS of hammer and dollying.

Yeah ive seen the guys at work use a butane torch and a wet rag to remove dents.
And not have to re-paint.:eek:

Yep. Heat up the metal without any room to expand, then shock cool it to contract it. Anyway, back on topic. Yeah, it does look like a camaro.

I think you should be able to pull the dents out.
But the paint damage will still be there, and there will be hints of the dents.

Could be hammer and dollied out, but it would still need some body filler, possibly some shrinks, and definitely paint.

Some dents you can hammer out softly, but that dent is by far out of range of softly :down:
