Nehalem will be knocking at the door before the end of the year, so it's about time for us to elect the best board around for our beloved s775/DDR2.
Is the Gigabyte P45 UD3 series the best price/performance around?
Do we have a winner or you have a better contestant for the title?
I think it is. Currently I am testing and its not finished but I did 10 passes of linpack, an hour of OCCT and now I am trying for 18-24 hours of Prime with my E8400 @ 533x8 = 4264 Ghz. Now whats cool about that imo is not that the board can do that, cause others can, but that this likely will be my 24/7 settings at low volts.

Bios vcore in windows (Easytune 6) reports as 1.31v. Now that's fantastic for 533 FSB. LLC works like a champ, I haven't had to reset cmos even one time and I tried for some crazy settings and the board is running cool. I felt NB while running Linepack and it was warm, not even hot to the touch. So imo this board is a champ- Somebody reported doing 700 FSB in one of the other threads. And it seems anybody can do 600+ if your ram is able with auto settings, and I mean almost anybody.
You would think all that would come at a hefty price but the board was $116 after MIR. So I think its an amazing board.
the best all around board is the dfi ut p35 for 24/7 usage
not talkin about 600fsb+ but who gonna use a board 24/7 @ that high fsb
but for 500-550fsb its the absolute best
for benchin the biostar p45 gets my vote
I think this new board will prove to be just as good but based on its proven track record, and I have both boards I agree with that.Quote:

I see that Biostar and DFI have a lot of fans, I kind of like the P5Q-D myself, so feel free to point out which is the best for you.
In terms of dying boards and killing CPU's sure the UD3P is great ;) There aren't many guys with them and a few have had serious issues so it does not impress me at all. A couple have achieved a nice FSB, but a couple have died and taken the cpu with them too. We will have to see what pans out after quite a few people get them use them for awhile before you could declare them decent and reliable, let alone the ultimate s775 DDR2 board.
I can do 534 FSB 24/7 stable at very similar voltages to zodden on my M2F, and could also do that on my P5Q-D. There are a few boards that can bench 600+ and be 24/7 stable at 500 - 550 so the 'best' board is the one that suits your taste and budget.
