OCZ Cryo-Z 3 Beeps No Boot

Hi I already emailed Ryder about this issue but I decided to post here as well so others with the same problem can reach this info someday.

I decided to power Cryo-Z unit as stand alone (without connections to the mobo pwr-sw jumper) because the unit is not turning the motherboard on when it hit's 30oC (this issue is under OCZ tech support for solution).

I'm working on my new build as you can see in my Worklog (signature) so I have to get some things going until I wait for more parts to arrive.

So today I got this new switch to be the Cryo-Z starter and I was planing to drill a hole in the 5 1/4 bays to start up the Cryo and then I can press the power sw to start up the PC manually after Cryo-Z gets below -25oC.

Problem is after I decided to test if this is gonna work I was surprised when I got this:

Cryo-Z 3 Beeps No Boot

What is wrong?

Well today I decided to hook the Cryo-Z on the motherboard again... It worked fine again (only works if all the red/white cable is pluged IN the mobo)... But it won't power the mobo on after it hits -30oC.

So the unit powered on fine but how am I supposed to power the motherboard independently if the Cryo-Z need to be pluged-in the ATX_SW jumper in the mobo to work? My initial idea to use the unit until OCZ fixes this problem was to make an independent plug for the Cryo-Z and the case pwr on swithch would go to the mobo atx sw jumper... But now Cryo-Z requires that jumper should I make a dual output from that jumper (on going to the case swich and the other to the Cryo)? Will this work?

Ryder you told me something about power the Cryo-Z independently how do I accomplish this?

I posted some notes to this problem, my work around was to rip out the controller and hard wire the compressor to the switch but you lose the display unless you have the parts to rewire one on.

I had problems with 790i not firing up when it hit temp even with the correct wires attached.

Thanks for your inputs FUGGER I saw your notes on that.

I was thinking of making a little split connection on the mobo PWR-SW jumper (two heads coming out of that jumper) one would go to the case and the other to the Cryo red/white wires just for it to start (sensing that was connected to the board).

Then I would power the Cryo and wait till -25oC an then hit th case pwr sw to power up the mobo.

Solution for half of the problem.

A note for you guys.

I came up with this idea yesterday and took my soldering iron out of the closet to see if it would work:

Patent Pending :D I will cut it shorter and ad some sleeving to make it look nicer.

I connected this split on the mobo and 1 pair of legs to the Cryo-Z and the other to the case switch.

With that I was able to turn the Cryo-Z ON successfully and then at about -25oC I turn the pc on hitting the case switch :up:

So until OCZ RMA's my Cooler Express Control board I will use this handy solution.

nice job.how is the unit working for u? whats 24/7(stable) cpu and temps at..?
