i got intel Q6600 G0 last year i hit 3.2 ghz on air run 24 hrs stable with prime95 after one year my cpu wont stable all setting same anyone know how to fix this should i reseat heatsink put new AS5 or get new water cool system i want my cpu hit 3.2 ghz again
What can you run at stable right now?
You may have to up the volts a little bit more on CPU now or maybe a memory issue.
Basically see what is stable now.
Also if that AS5 has never been changed i would change for sure and use MX2 or Thermalright CHillfactor as neither need any break in time and you spread it on the IHS cpu cap only in thin layer.
I use the thermalright chillfactor paste and look at my signature to see what i am running.
And at this ghz 4.2 i am Orthos blend Testing as i type this and i am over 15 hrs stable so far and MAX temp is 58C, but average is 54C throughout the testing the MAX 58C is like once in a blue moon that it gets to that as it spikes there for only 2-3 secs on some of the intergers.
right now my cpu run stable at 2850 ghz hotter than before 3.2 ghz same setting i really cant pump more volts
How hot is it at 2850 and what volts you using?
what are your voltage setting now? what air cooler are you using? and what temps?
Its summer, so lower your vcore or upgrading cooling.
all my core almost 70c and volt 1.375 Thermalright Ultra-120 CPU Cooler running 2850 mhz when i get home i will post screenshot and more info
thats too hot, try to keep the temp under 60c loaded. lap your heatsink?
i havent lap my heatsink i read lap guide before but i havent do it yet is it easy to do it
Electromigration might be the case here.
Thing is, you've been running that CPU out of spec for a long time, and temp made it worse.
I would say...pump up the volts, and get better cooling.
Or change the CPU...its a good excuse to upgrade :)
Have you tried cleaning the heatsink? After a year it's going to be bloody dusty!
i used air gun cleaned all dust inside my pc last month after i add second 120mm fan in my Thermalright Ultra-120 CPU Cooler extreme my temp getting better i'm back to 3.2 ghz again still running prime95 dont know how long will stable

Cleaning everything (isopropyl alcohol or similar), and remounting with good pressure/contact and new thermal paste should help your temps big time.
If its warmer in your area, due to summer or something, you should also expect an proportional CPU temp increase...
I think that degradation is unlikely with your clocks/vcore. Anyone knows if high temps can cause electromigration ? Probably not, since in his case the CPU is within Intel's thermal limits.
