Asus P5Q-Deluxe: No POST Beeps

Hooked my shiny new P5Q-Deluxe up using my existing hardware:

E6600
Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800
eVGA 8800GT
Silverstone OP650w
2x Western Digital 80GB SATAII

1) Hit the power button on the motherboard and no POST beeps, no display on screen.

2) Pulled out the RAM, powered on, got the "no RAM" beeps.

3) Put the RAM back in, pulled GPU. No beeps.

4) Pulled RAM and GPU, got the "no RAM" beeps.

5) Reseated CPU, put GPU and RAM back in. No beeps.

6) Repeat 2-4, same results.

7) Cleared CMOS, repeat 2-4, no beeps, no display.

Dead motherboard? RAM not getting enough voltage? Dead RAM? Dead GPU?

I have another GPU I could try (old PCI Radeon 9250) but that would involve tearing apart another computer. No other RAM to try, no other CPU to try.

This actually happened to me yesterday on the same board.

I would press the power button and there would be no beeps and no video but all my variable speed fans would spin up at 100% and keep like that. I cleared CMOS and it was fixed :shrug:

Did you use the CLRTC jumper or pull the battery?

if still no go, i guess its a DOA case.

I assembled a P5Q deluxe few weeks ago, for a friend of mine happend same thing I ques. Apparently 1 stick of his 2x2 GB kit was bad. the GFX fan was spinning @ 100% but no POST. So I figured it was 1 bad stick, since when I put the good stick in it would post, as soon I put the bad stick in it wont, and putting both in it wont post aswell. So what I would suggest before RMAing the board is to check if your ram is not the problem.

I don't know how I could have killed the RAM... took it out of my old board and immediately put it in the new board.

I'll work on it some more but this is sounding DOA...

Couldn't figure out how to get the battery out. :am: I used the CLRTC jumper. I moved the jumper over for abot 20 seconds. I will give the battery a go again tomorrow but for some reason it just wouldn't come out... hard to get my fat fingers in there.

Best thing is to get the board out of the case, only use one dimm and try to boot it...for the battery you need a small flat screwdriver to push the tab that's holding the battery in place... it should pop out easily...

I took the battery out for a few minutes and still nothing. Ran it outside of the case too, same.

Boxed up and will ship out tomorrow... :shrug::(

Removing the Battery only prevents the CLR RTC on this board... if you read the manual it says disconnect the power and then move the jumper (but don't remove the battery)... I thought I had a dead board too after an OC, except I wasn't clearing CMOS the right way.

im having the same problem :(

edit: nvm, one of my sticks of ram is dead :( at least i can still run with 1 stick for now.

I tried using both the jumper and pulling the battery and it didn't work either way. I've already sent the board back for RMA Return for Replacement, so it's out of my hands now.

I put my computer back together with my old motherboard to find out that one of my sticks of RAM died too... at least I think it's dead. Won't boot at 1.9, 1.95 or 2.0v. I haven't had the time or patience to try higher.

:( Crucial Ballistix D9GMH too...

I hope this board didn't kill it... I couldn't even get it to POST.
