Anybody but me stuck at 2610mhz?
I can set it to 275fsb or 285 it boots fine both ways but it never posts higher then 2610mhz.
Any ideas?
Thats at 1.55 volts with dry ice btw

What memory are you running? timings? and how many sticks?
What cooling do you use?
What bios?
The K8V is the buggiest Board i've ever had!
sorry for the question but are the multipliers unlocked on those boards and cpu's? will really appreciate confirmation of that. you already got a 30% overclock maybe that's all there is. can you take the voltage any higher?
1 final word this board is quite honestly IMO The biggest POS i have used ever. Well actually it rivals the P4t533 for 1st place.
3/4 of the time it wont boot period no matter stock or o/c.
It defaults ram timings to things like tras 13 Yah ok.
Dont think they could have made the cmos jumper any harder to get to with an agp card in.
And the time it did run it was as stable as a Coke addict in starbucks drinking shooters of espresso on a hot summers day.
Just my thoughts:)
Back it goes.....period
P.s
Good ole AMD flashbacks i lost 3 os install's in as many hours becasue of a knackerd ram setting.
Good thing they didnt get rid of that :slobber:
Viva La VIA!
The A8V undervolts. Default VCore is only 1.45 on mine.Quote:

There is no options to change the multipliers.

ahhh i thought i would give it one more shot now it just up and died:)
Time for something else i suppose
you need more vcore. im suprised you can get 2.5ghz with only 1.55v, sounds like a good chip!
the guys from aces got their 3200+ to 2.8ghz+ in a prommie with 1.85v i think. and it was running extremely cool! -34°C load or something like that
Saaya,
No, that wasn't a 3200+, it was a FX 51 with the multi unlocked via BIOS running at 14 x 200
C
yeah i just checked it again, doesnt really matter though, they got 2.8ghz with 1.75v. all i was saying as that he should try more volts.
agreed :D
You are not quite grasping the problem.
Its not that the cpu wont overclock higher.
The Board no matter what setting i type in for fsb only boots up as 2610mhz. Meaning if i set it to run at 2750mhz It boots and runs fine but its running at 2610mhz not 2750. see?
no amount of voltage to the cpu is going to help this pos motherboard its getting returned for something else.
hm... maybe a bios bug... i guess itzs a bios bug then
hope they can fix it with a bios update or I'm going to stay away
The whole Bios is a bug!Quote:

i feel your pain man when it comes to a buggy BIOS....
however the lobby and car scores are rather rewarding when things are running fine ! :)

We had a similar issue with the gigabyte, some times u go higher with FSB but bios screen+ the one just b4 windows loads shows cpu @60mhz or so but in windows using cpuid its actually o/c & working fine, might not be the same problem but u can give it a try if u havent yet;)Quote:

Another thing is since its using the same chipset as the MSI then u might try using that mSI ustility to overclock in windows.
VIA chipset @ 260 FSB with no fixed PCI?
Yeah that sounds like hell on earth. Deej why dont you grab a NF3?
Glad to see AMD is treating you right. :D
@JC:
Why keep the FSB @ 200?
Thats's an orb prob. Shows 200 MHz even if you hit 250 or so.Quote:

Just setup the gigabyte and so far it's been a friggin joy compared to that ANUS.
Benches soonish:0
Oh jc the ANUS sk8n is an fx 51 board it doesnt work with the a64?
as per youre screenie:)
DJ:
What clocks are you hitting? Is this the NF3? How's the Car High / Lobby High looking?
Glad to see the real benchers are showing themselves.
well u can physically try and force a 754 into a 940 socket, but all u gonna get is some broken pins hhehe
Isn't there some IDE and AGP issue with the nForce3 boards or something? I remember reading nVidia is working on a fix and will incorporate it into the nForce3 250 series.
The issue is a neutered Hypertransport bus
