Hmm , 9950BE + BUGET TA770 running up to par?

Well i just started tweaking this thing and so far ive managed 3450mhzCPU/2600+mhzNB....

The TA770 RX780/SB600 mobo seems to handle this chip well...

Im working on tweaking the FSB and HT but im not shure if i can expect too much more in Speed/latency unless i lower the NB and Raise Ram more...

So for now i am just curiose if these times are good for this particular combo..Ive seen lower times on other 770' mobos but with 9850..

I hope im in the ball game of performance..I CAN PROBALLY RAISE THE fsb and lower HT for higher RAM freqency..The dominators are good for 1150mhz but so far this is the fastest i can get this puppy to run due to Ram timming and Bios i think.

Any one have a few tips for ram timing....?

This 9950 really seems to come alive with 1066 and 2400mhz+ on the NB...My Bios dosnt like 5-5-5-15 timings above 1000mhz and is the only reason im using 1066diver ATM. Running @1000mhz or lower takes a hit on latency.

"Is it up to par...on this budget 770 mobo?" you innocently ask. I think you're just trying to rub it in. :) 3.4GHz is exceptional for a K10. When it comes to running stable, most of us are in a 3.0GHz and below world.

Im going over bios settings now and i think system was trying to run 1T above 480mhz when using Ram dividers other than 1066mhz..The Bios/Ram EPP i think was detecting wierd and not using 2t on sme dividers..I will try again.

In My Sig ,,Cooling hardware,I modifed my D-tek too and will post some pics...This 9950chip Idles @27c-29c ,only few 5c higher than my X26000+ @3.5ghz 1.56vcore , so 4xcores vs 2xcores at almost same freqency (-50mhz) this is real good for 65nm.

Hahaa i didnt mean too...But yeah , i didnt realize how good i set it up until now . I was trying to find other setups of 770/780chipsets and then i realized that this things cranking as good as most 790FX's with SB600. My only gripe right now is figuring out a good stable ram timing besides 5-7-7-24 -2t...

I really want Low latency , 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-15 with the TA770 does work but Bios limits it on Phenom a little! I can clock my X2 with 317fsb and i know the ram does 1150mhz(my 9600BE loved it)..Im still trying though.

No flow reduction here, Modifying my D-tek...See the HUGE exit ports :D Also ported the Inlet to spread flow in a 1" diameter Over CPU for X2/x4Phenoms..Gave me even temps with X2 and X4 seems to like it too.

Finished Dialing in the Dtek and Second GPU loop before i installed my TA770/Phenom 9600BE for first time..

Not: That M2N32 Deluxe 6000+@3.5 and 8800GTS(G92) ran some nice clocks too..They feel so slow now its not even funny:yepp:

Hmm once there on ,Its like full surround with Xf-i... I use them in 2.0 speaker mode not in headphone mode...They have great sound,I mean Base sounds like it thumps and Highs are crisp! Very, very , Low NR while gaming..When your crawling up on a Op You can hear the correct direction an Op/firefight is coming from no problem..Ive had $100 dollar units that i though sounded good untill i switched to KOSS...

Well besides that ,

Ill be running 3dmark06 in awhile along with Crysis and you gussed it a Crysis Bench with the 8.7beta...Best driver ive seen for me at least....I had reflashed my 3870x2 with AMD factory Bios from Visiontek(powerplaybios)...It sets the 2D and 3D mode the same....It now also heats the card up by doing so...
Even with Riva cranked too 100% ive hit 104c and had the stuppid temp overide kicks in on the Card...It didnt do it before i flashed the darn thing.I may RMA the thing but am holding out seeing im gonna reinstall 3Dmark06 and Crysis fully patched...

Ive found if i use ATi tool to raise clocks alittle higher ,say 850gpu it seems to do better .The fan will actually slow in 3Dmark06 with a slight stutter on the screen and great picture, possiable bug maybe?. Only happens @ the Canyon flight where the water dragon jumps over ya?...so hopefull ill post some Benchies with the Whole combo now that my chip is settled in:D

Im close to this Mobo's limit...I had to lower the HT to around 1860mhz for 3520mhz stability @1.58vcore With 2480mhzNB and 1100mhz on the Ram.....

Im so impressed with this chip..28c Idle in windows and 22c in Bios ATM..

Haaha ... My goal was too push this Mobo .... Its Volts stable with Phenon @ 3450mhz@1.56v ! The PWM's speak to me underload 3dmark06 Canyon flight @3553mhz@1.61v...:rofl:

I am downloading Sandra to run more test @3450mhz ..Ooh and Prime too...If all else ill throw the 9950 into my M2n32 which clocks simalar to the TA but with 8phase power:yepp: Ill do Cinbench and Crysis later on..

Best with un optimzed ram and a Cheap a$s Mobo....Was unstable due to Mosphets's 3phase(heat) not the CPU:D

Ironic the performance is the Same @3450..So the Extra 100mhz dosnt do me justice.

The Fine Line,, 9950 can Go More But the MOBO CANT...Chip runs So cool but the PWM's fail @ 100%x4 with 3450mhz ...ill swap the Chip into the M2N32deluxe maybe tomorrow and see what i can get. I was expecting this to happen any way.....

UPDATE:

I was able to achieve 3.55ghz using just the CPUxmulti and 1066ram setting..

I also thought this cant be all i can get ....Instead of Seeing if i could sqeeze More Max MHZ like 3.6 which this MOBO can Not do Voltwise, at least for this chip...I decided to see if i could Raise the HT and NB 2600MHZ @ 3.5ghz this would = 5200HT

I cant really lower the Ram timing anymore or use a different divider for the ram.. It would create to much of an imbalance between the cpu/ram/ht MHZ or freqencies that allow me to be stable at these speeds...

So finally i Have Phenom over 5300+ht..Not shure if thats good ....But it does kinda support my therory about reaching High HT with X4 is more about the CPU's ability...

This same mobo could NOT run my 9600BE@ 2600mhz or even Stock with more than 2200ht...Thats with fsb260+ even up to fsb280....It just wouldnt run more HT..Although it would do 2400NB @2600mhz Cpu...

High Ht seems to enhance Performance with my Graphics ,,system load time and system response in windows feels quiker.

Oddly enuff i was able to keep the Ram settings kinda close and SuperPi is the Same between 206x17 @3.5ghz(Ht 4000 and Nb 2600) and 268 x1300 @ 3.84 with (5300+ht with 2680nb) ...they both get 22.500's 1M +/- .100..

So this is it ..thers no more left to tweak ....I have no complaints but, if i did cosindering this mobo wasnt meant for more than 9850'S..

Id say 1 more Phase Pwms with a Heatsink...But then it wouldnt of been budget mobo...The Biostar790GX will soon take over this 9950 and thus i wish it too had a Heatsink for PWMs although it has the extra phse now... Only thing they really left out is the cooling of PWMs... ill make my own anyway..

Every time i rise vcore over stock it just wont boot.
it wont boot even when i rise only vcore and leave

Tested to the hilt ...Better than any STOCK Bios period...also set TLBfix to disabled for maximum performance...I even put Heatsinks on My PWMS just because i push thing pretty hard...You should be fine with the X3... 1.45v should net your max OcAir/water...I set Both CPUVid and NBvid to same volts ... 1.55v which is default with 9600/9950 (00) ..CnQ needs to be disabled..I do not recomend trying to Oc with CnQ enabled...

Ive alwaysed flashed this MOBO using the Flash tool in Bios ,,just extract Bios to Floppy ..Once in Bios put floppy in ,,run flash tool thats in the Bios...Ive done this more than 100times on this mobo using Floppy...It works.


Voltage wise,,
I will only raise the Vcore +volts if i happen to max the CPU with the HEX Vids :D ..only then do i add more if needed....Default should be like (18) or (00) for the TA770 Just the way the Mobo works...I start of with (18) both CPU/NB and jump up the Volts once the CPU gets its first hang in boot = Low volts if temps are in spec.

9950@ 3.2ghz 1.31v default(13) CPUvid/Nbvid stock!

Im using water and i set the CPUvid to (00) = 1.55v
.......................................Nbvid to (00) = 1.55v
.......................................CPU voltage( Default Auto) with the above Hex(00)and will only add +volts when going over 3.51ghz:D

:up: New screens of MYBios,,should be same for X3 except your Multi is not unlocked so you may need to Lower the HT once the FSB staarts going above220/240..and you will need to lower the NB too..@fsb268 myNB set to 2200 = 2680 .. :up:

Ram divider settings that are most import.. Change only the Ones that i have switched off of autotiming...Your timing will be different..Change your Ram divider to a lower setting 667 instead of 800 and so on,,Once the you start raising the CPU/FSB setting over 220240..Depends on how good your ram is..

Note: (CL) you can also change ,,i just left it on auto for My ram to make shure my EPP settings were working...

Next make shure your HT width and freqency are set to max setting for your Chip before you tweak the The CpuFid/Nbfid..

Note:
Im pretty shure 1.8ghz will be your default for X3..You can set 2.0ghz but it may only do 1.8ghz in this menu...Remeber when you Raise the FSB the NB and HT go up too..So you will have to lowerthem to keep with in your chips specs ..

Using the (CPU Clock = FSB) 200 is default MHZ...Once you get a Nice Oc with the CPUclock while using stock NB (1800 or 2000) then you can try Raisng the NBfid more..X3 should clock just like the X4 B3's ..I usually set the lowest Ram divider or 667 using the Recomended Volts of my ram . Then i set CHIPSET Nb/Sb volts(this is NB on the MoBo for Ram) to 1.31v (1.33v = 1.31v) and raise HTvoltage regulator to 1.35v.....before i start my first Oc..last disable TLBfix(set to Disable)Also (Turn off AMD Virtualization)

Your 8750 is B3 and will use simalar Volts to Overclock like the 9850/9950 they handle 1.45 on Air easily,,keep your temps in spec is the key..

Note: B3 amazing,, B2 finicky

Air/Water and low volt/ High volt..
Ive tested this with B3 ,,Most should be able to use (00) = 1.55v with Decent Air cooler and or water...Sometimes a little les but this is what breaks the 3.4ghz -3.5ghz barrier for now!

(B2's from what ive seen )The key is getting just enuff heat for booting while staying below the max Shut down temp..... With my B2 this was more than a pain in the @$$ even with stock cooler my 9600BE loved 1.18v ,, way below stock volts for the CPU .This made 2600mhzCPU and 2400NB....Now @1.18v with water it could only do 2500mhz/2200nb ...Most B2's like the higherVolts and a little heat to be stable above 2500mhz .When I combined it with water it was too cold to boot @ 1.25v or high go figure! 9600BE chip really didnt do good cold but liked things a bit warmer and with Air:rofl:Darn B

The B3's are night and Day over B2's..The B3's ( all Phenoms 9X50's ive scaled like the X2 6000+(F3's65nm and X2 6400+( F3's 65nm ) with almost the identical Voltage for Both CPU and NB on Phenom....

Example:

6000+ @ 1.56vcore = 3.5ghz with the Mobo CPU to southbridge set @ 1.31v
9950BE @ 1.56cpuVid =3.48ghz with 1.56v ..The Volts will be same for NBvid(on CPU)

Ironic isnt it..:yepp:The X3's and X'2's with B3 should be identical when the Clocks go Higher but maybe with less Volts due to less cores...Id suspect 1.45v or even 1.5v for X3/X2- B3's to scale high..They use same IMC as 9x50's too..Just make shure the NB/SB is set at 1.3v-1.33v to kepp your ram happy...This is what keeps the CPU stabble when going for that nice OC:yepp:

Heads up....Dont worry if you cant go over 288 on the fsb....this mobo has more than enuff to clock that X3...My 9950 maxes it @288,, this is where the Volts prevent me from running High HT and NB and FSB....:D
