Hi to everybody and plz excuse my ignorance as i am new to OCing, but hope to learn a lot :yepp:
I set my FSB to 400, multiplierx8,and have my mem running at 1600, with 1.94 v to dram and using the settings below.Thought the system was stable but after 1 hour of testing it hangs...:doh:
Any suggestions?

I recommend you try putting the trfc on auto. Also those sticks should be more than capable of 1T command rate, but you can get to that later.
I'd also ask what voltage you have set for the ram?
try bumping nb voltage to 1,55V, Refresh period Ratio to x11, tref to +1016, Ram pull up/ down and ram ref each +2 step.
then try to test if its stable, if yes try these timings:
7-6-6-6 and command rate 1 (in addition to settings above, rest still on auto).
If it shoudnt be stable for some reason try more volts (I know it sounds lame, but the blackops loves the volt).

what cpu is this actually? :D
is it a quadcore?
all voltages are default except vdimm?
if that kit is based on the older micron chips itll like 766 or 765 and voltages of 2v and higher (check whats the mfc gives warranty on in case you care about warranty), if its based on the newer ones itll prefer 776 or 777 and vdimm of 2v or less
Yes it's a Q9450 , all voltages are to default execpt vdimm(1.916) and don't really know how to tell which chip the kit is based:D . Full name : F3-12800CL7D-2GBPI
Testing with all settings to auto(that gives 7-6-6-15 to memset) except Refresh period Ratio x11,tref to +1016, Ram pull up/ down and ram ref each +2 step, vdimm 1.916 fails wihin 1-2 mins:(
Changing timings to 7-7-7-18 which the mfc gives, also fails after 10 mins. In both cases Prime95 reports "fatal error, rounding was 0.5 expected less than 0.4" and system hangs...
Try lowering the CPU multiplier. Prim95 is more of a CPU stress test than memory. Also for 400 FSB you might need to do some more tweaking.
st7, try the lowest cpu multi, and low memory divider like 1:2, then push up the fsb and see how high you can go.
if you cant go higher try to increase vcore, and vtt a notch and see if it helps, also once you hit the limit try different cpu gtl settings and see if that helps.
once you found your fsb max you can check the max your cpu can run with a high multiplier to max out the cpu clocks, once thats done you know what fsb and clockspeed limit your cpu has, and then we can work on configuring it well with the right multi, fsb, and memory divider :)
