EK GTX 280 arrived today

Will open her up and then try to put her on the Gfx card... will post some results too afterwards...

I woudl first unscrew all the top screws and then start popping off the covers, I damaged mine slightly , so fragile plastic and metal...

Did you get the backplate? I still do not see a way of ordering the block and the backplate for the GTX280.

Nope mate no backplate, I will put some Swiftech copper heatsinks on the rams (if required)

Nice block Eddy!!!! Can we see one with a clear top please? I know others here might disagree . . .but as far as I am concerned, the difference between EK and DD really does not come down to waterblock design but really just miles apart . . .both companies just exude quality + great customer service. . .

Bumped up the GPU to 740, Shaders 1480 en Ram at 1250mhz :

Idling at 37-40°C need to verify max temp as I see max 45°C in precision during a 3dmark06 Run (quick interrupted it before the CPU test) If I leave Precision or Rivatuner monitoring I get weird lag in the benchmarks so ignore the score lol it's kindda low then...

Is this block realy singleslot?
Cause on the 8800GTX blocks i had before, the screws where to high to be single slot.

For the rest Leeghoofd, this needs a vmod :D

If that's gonna cost another 80 euro it isn't worth it for just the ram.

30-40€ like for the ram block for the EK fcr600 I think. I have a full cover block, I want erything coolled by the block

The back ram cooler in also in manufacturing.
Firstly we will release alu backplate, then in 2 weeks block for back RAMs that will be compativble with all EK 280 GTX blocks.

If I'm right the ram is pulling 5 watt, so alu heatsink will be more than enough to cool the back of the ram.
Is that back plate like Iandh's plates ?
So the card will still be single slot ?
Or will it be higher (fins) ?

those of you that have viper john's nb block.

will the backplate interfer with that block?

The difference between stock cooling and the EK fc8800 with a 8800GTX is 30mhz for the ram. Better cooling = better frequency. Better performance in the game, not sure ....
