P45 Platinum - my first run
-
bung some 2GB modules in and show us what it will really do....512's are way to little load IMO
-
 nice results PcCI2iminal!! voltage auto for NB,FSB etc with this fsb?
waiting for more tests!!
i don't know if you know me...I also participate in the adrenaline forum!!
:p:

Hi, could you also test for the highest FSB that is 32m Super PI stable?
I love the look of this board, the heatpipe stuff on it is just jaw droppingly awesome XD.
-
Nice result, some BIOS screens would be great. And also max FSB ;)

O

!
this thing is bad ass! gotta get me one!
-
Doesn't most boards do 510+ FSB today without huge voltage jumps? Sorry to say but im not impressed. But thanks for showing us what the board can do.
-
Now put 2x 2GB memory modules in there and use a 45nm quad and we really see if the chipset is an improvement.
-
Go Go Mate I hope for the MSI fans this one is as nice as the current Asus line... I have a good feeling this P45 could be the next 965 chipset...
-
I hope that you will post with some more testing be good to see how far board can be pushed.
-
I have a p5q asus coming with a newer 8400 cpu its a get me by till nehalem setup but what the heck
trying to cut down on my heat dump in my room sure hope the P45 and wolfy does its job.
-
Good testing, thanks for sharing it :)
I think this board is not the one to keep, the P35 Platinum has about the same results, Wolfs tops out at around ~520fsb. It's not bad, but not even close to impressive for XS standarts
The P35 model tops out with 65nm Quads at 500fsb, with Quad and 4x1Gb the limit is down to 485fsb. Maybe in this cases the new board can do better. ;)

its not easy to push the FSB with that new Platinum ,the bios has heavy issues with high FSB ,ram dividers and voltages ,for some unknow reason the MCH and FSB must be auto for 500+

that E3110 does 570FSB from bios with P965 and i only need 1.65v on NB and i don't think this will be possible with Platinum

will have tests with 65nm Quad?

QX6700 maybe :) but i will start with this

I wonder if it will pull 475FSB like the P5E3's did that I tested
-
Thx for posting...
Looking forward to see u pushing it;)

Looks like a quite nice board. I was asked to test one of these today, would you say that it's working well? I'm currently testing a P5Q Deluxe, and this seems like a great board. If you get good overclocking results on this board I think I have to let my contact send me a sample.
Can't say i'm verry impressed with the results so far, 520FSB is not verry much on dual core. But it will possibly do better with an 45nm dual core.
Tested max FSB 45nm quad? If the board and BIOS is ready for launch i think it should hit at least 500FSB.

not good , i can boot at 450 on quad but its only stable for seconds and nothing more and when i boot at 400 i only can use the CPU/RAM Ratio 1:1 ,4:5 ,5:6 ,1600 @ 1066 its not working
a bios update is needed :(

I agree.
sitting here with my new P45 Platinum, E8400 and a Pair of OCZ PC2-9200 Reaper Edition and just cannot go above 9x400 (3.6 GHz) where I have to increase vcore to 1.25V to get this stable :(
also FSB and RAM is totally maxed out at 430 MHz which is very poor for these components.
either my board is damaged or a new bios is needed
-
Hmmm...sounds not good. Is this with te newest bios from MSI?
Have this board Skew settings, and have you tweaked these? Skew tweaking is quite essential for P45.
-
yes it's the newest bios v1.0 (same as on their site) and yes there are skew settings but I don't know what are good settings for these - never touched them.
